This is the first remixed and remastered song from the soon to be released "Tony Bernard - LIVE" Anthology. Unlike past issued remastered cuts, this one was put through new software that isolated the vocals and instruments, allowing them all to be individually mastered and recombined. Considering that this track was recorded on 2-track cassette tape in 1996, that is amazing. This version's vocals and instruments are more present and easily distinguished in the mix. I have several hundred recordings to go thru, before I can compile the anthology, so bear with me. I slapped together a slideshow in order to post it online. Unlike some of the songs in the anthology, this particular performance was not filmed. It's from a live show taped at the New England Inn, in the fall of 1996. ☺️

A recording from The Tony Bernard Show Band, c.1996. Recorded on a standard 2 track cassette recorder from a stereo feed off of the mixer. Digitized in 2000, remastered and released in 2004. This particular track was sung by guitarist Greg Romaly. The band members usually did a few numbers before TB would take the stage. Great memories. 🥰

Added another subwoofer to my HiFi system, yesterday. The sound is great. The bottom end is perfectly matched with the 15" drivers in the main cabinets. All 4 are model JBL 2032H. The two subs fire facing down at 150Hz while the front firing mains are tuned at 400Hz. The end result is magic. Proof? Listen to it. However, I did use my cheapie Android to record it. Not any of my pro cameras. There's just no way to listen to it unless you're actually sitting in front of it. Your cell phone and or desk/laptop speakers won't cut it, either. Still...

It's Christmas in July folks! This is the 2024 Saint Andrew Christmas Concert. Knowing this would probably be my last concert after 20 wonderful years. (My poor health is finally catching up to me and I can no longer do these strenuous events without damaging myself further)

I took the liberty of adding some nice drone footage. I had only done this once before, in 2020, for another Catholic school, St. Maria Goretti, because it was closed after that year's 8th grade graduation. So, I thought I'd retire with a nice visual bang. Enjoy! 🥰

I haven't been very creative lately. But it is time to release last December's St. Andrew Christmas Concert. My last, unofficial concert video project. After 20 long years and my declining health, it was time to pass the torch to someone younger, more fit, and with fresher ideas to helm this annual event. Now when I attend this yearly event, it'll be merely as a spectator. Coming soon.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Mojoe Slim during a studio warm up session, back in the day. Brian and Steve on acoustic guitars. Mojoe on the harmonica.

This live recording was made in 2019, at an outdoor fest in Northern Illinois. (I can't seem to remember which town)

I was called out of the blue one day by Micheal McDermott's manager, saying I came highly recommended for small, intimate, outdoor live sound reinforcement gigs. After he mentioned Micheal's name, I was humbled that someone of his stature would hire my little crew of misfits, but I agreed immediately, knowing of McDermott's local and national reputation as an artist and songwriter. I always listened to WXRT 93.1 and they played Micheal's music all the time. Which I was very familiar with.

I asked my son Jayson to be a stagehand on this one, because he too was a songwriter and musician and I knew he would like working for such a great kindred spirit. It would eventually lead to Jay writing a similar tribute song for his uncle, my brother, after he passed away, just a year later.

We were both honored to be on this gig. As a standard practice, I always record all my gigs. This way, I can review any mistakes that I've made during the entertainer's live performance. It did lead to other gigs, that unfortunately were canceled due to COVID-19.

I gave Micheal's manager a copy of the recordings when I was asked if I had recorded it. I certainly do not own any rights to this music and I am only sharing it on social media as a token of honor for us to have been fortunate to have worked for such a talented artist. Many thanks to him and his management team for having allowed us that opportunity.
