Did you think I disappeared? It has been a busy season! A busy year actually. I have been photographing some really amazing people recently and I'm super excited to share them with you. First up, the Bellah family! These boys grew like weeds during COVID. And I absolutely love seeing families return year after year!

When your sister says, this is the last photo...
I have all the feels posting these. I'm so proud and excited and honored to be part of this kid's life. I can't wait to see what's next for him and to celebrate his huge accomplishment in a few weeks!

I was 16 when this guy came into the world. He was so tiny. I have vivid memories of him as a toddler running in circles around me while I sat on the living room floor, both of us laughing hysterically. Now, here he is about to graduate from high school and start college. I still can't believe it...

The light, the backdrop, the leather jacket, the lamp posts... these were some of my favorite photos from our session. And Brenden was such a trooper walking up and down the path until we got it just right. WORTH IT!

The many smiles of Brenden. It's difficult to shoot and edit people I know, especially people I love. But finding the genuine smile in the edits is much easier. I knew the second I saw it, which one was real. And I found myself grinning ear to ear while editing these and staring at that happy face.

So James Dean! The light and the hair curl were so perfect. I always try to capture seniors as I think they see themselves. Yes, senior portraits are mostly for mom and grandma, and in this case big sis. But I love it when I get a glimpse of how they see themselves.

I fiddled with these edits for weeks and weeks, obsessing over ever little detail and I'm so excited to finally share them with you! (See what I did there? hehe)

I love photographing seniors but when the senior is also my goofy little brother, I end up having one of my favorite sessions of all time! Brenden has one of the best laugh's of anyone I've ever known. He laughs with his whole body. I loved looking through this evolution-of-a-smile as I'm calling it. Photo 1: Me telling him to smile. Photo 2: No, bigger. Photo 3: You literally just parted your lips so I could see your teeth, try again. Photo 4: A genuine smile!

Then and now. One of my favorite humans on the planet (my little brother!) is graduating high school this year! And I had the honor of photographing his senior portraits, which is where the second photo of us was taken. The first is from 2009. Watching this kid grow up has truly been a highlight of my life. I am so honored to be his big sister and I can't wait to see what he'll accomplish. (I'm not crying! You're crying!) Anyway, a quick trip down memory lane while I wrap up edits on his senior photos.

It’s been a minute since I posted. Partly because I’m doing more photojournalism work these days and partly because COVID has slowed my portrait and event photography this year. In the meantime, I’m focusing on getting my home office spruced up and decided I need a photo on my wall of my foster pup (who’s leaving soon for his new home 😥). Help me decide which one by liking or commenting on your favs.
