The Secret Library officially welcomed its first client today.

When I designed this set, I dreamed about moments exactly like this.

He came in with a vision inspired by Greek mythology, David Bowie, and the god of wine himself. Think overflowing grapes, rich jewel tones, candlelight, decadent details, and the feeling of stepping into a story where beauty, power, and self-expression reign supreme.

What emerged wasn’t just a photoshoot.
It was art.

One of my favorite things about bo***ir is that there are no rules. It isn’t about fitting into a box. It’s about creating something that feels authentically you, whether that’s soft and romantic, dark and dramatic, or somewhere in between.

The Secret Library was built for dreamers, storytellers, book lovers, romantics, villains, heroes, gods, and anyone brave enough to explore a different side of themselves.

And seeing this first vision come to life within these walls felt magical.

“This is what happens when a client says, ‘I want to feel like Akasha.’” 🖤🩸

The moment she mentioned Queen of the Damned, we were already dreaming up candles, dark romance, dramatic lighting, and all the vampire queen energy.

One of my favorite things about bo***ir is that it doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. Some women want soft and romantic. Some want vintage glamour. And some want to step into a completely different world for a day.

For this session, we brought her vision to life with our fake blood add-on, creating something dark, powerful, sensual, and cinematic. Every drop you see is completely safe, completely fake, and designed specifically for creative concepts like this.

Watching her transform throughout the session was incredible. She didn’t just pose for photos. She became the character she had imagined.

These are the sessions I live for. The ones where a client walks in with an idea and leaves with artwork that feels like it came straight out of a movie.

She came back for another session and said she wanted to lean way more into her spicy side this time… and honestly? We were so here for it 🔥

For her first session, we explored a different vibe—but this round she wanted something darker, bolder, and sexier while still keeping that vintage feel she loves. We paired the soft vintage blowout with moodier makeup, red satin, black details, candlelight, and some BDSM-inspired elements to create something that felt both timeless and unapologetically bold.

This is why we LOVE when clients come back. You get to try a completely different side of yourself and create something new every time.

And she absolutely killed this session at our Florida studio 😮‍💨

This client came into our Gothic Studio wanting something that felt true to who she is—not watered down because she’s pregnant. She wanted the candlelight, the mood, the drama… and a reminder that becoming a mother doesn’t mean losing the parts of yourself that feel sexy, powerful, and alive.

And honestly? These images feel like artwork. The softness of pregnancy mixed with the darkness of our studio created something unforgettable.

With Mother’s Day coming up, this is your reminder that moms are allowed to celebrate themselves too. Whether you’re expecting, chasing toddlers, raising teenagers, or simply learning how to prioritize yourself again—you deserve to feel beautiful in every season of your life.

We’re growing… and we’re hiring ✨

As many of you know, Sarah McDaniel Studio has been expanding between our Virginia studio and our monthly Florida destination sessions—and we’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead.

Our amazing studio assistant, Elly, will be stepping away for a few months for maternity leave as she prepares to welcome her baby (and we are SO excited for her 🤍)—but don’t worry, she’ll be returning to the team after her leave.

During this season, we’re looking to expand our team and bring on additional studio assistants to help support both locations.

We are currently hiring for:

🖤 Virginia Studio Assistant
✈️ Virginia Studio Assistant + Monthly Florida Travel
☀️ Florida-Based Weekend Studio Assistant

Our Florida role typically supports our monthly destination weekends, with shifts usually running Saturday + Sunday (and occasional Mondays depending on client demand).

This role is perfect for someone who loves creativity, luxury client experiences, organization, and being part of the behind-the-scenes magic that brings our sessions to life.

We proudly work with clients of all identities, body types, and backgrounds, so professionalism, inclusivity, and compassion are a must.
