History made in the sub-arctic. ❄️🏁

There’s nothing quite like the roar of a machine breaking the silence of the tundra. We caught the action at the inaugural Nome-White Mountain 140, where Casey Sherman took the top spot as the first-ever champion.

This isn't just a race; it's a testament to the
life we lead up here. Watch the speed, the snow, and the spirit of Nome on our YouTube channel.

Swipe through these 5 frames of the moonset behind the Liitfik Behavioral Health building. Nature definitely showed off today.

⚠️ INTO THE STORM: Iron Dog Expedition Class Finishes in 60mph Whiteout

They say the trail is tough, but today the weather in Nome decided to rewrite the definition of "hard."

While the rest of town is battened down, the Iron Dog Expedition Class riders just fought their way across the finish line through blinding snow and 60mph gusts. This wasn't just a race finish; it was a battle against the Bering Sea.

I was out on the Council Road to capture the moment these sleds emerged from the whiteout. You can barely see the trail markers, let alone the horizon.

Huge respect to these riders. It takes a different kind of grit to push a sled 1,000+ miles only to face this wall of wind at the very end.

👇 Help identify the riders!
Visibility was near zero, so tag the teams or riders you recognize in these photos. Let’s make sure they see these shots of their arrival.

A crisp 10:00 AM sunrise in Nome this morning!

Took a trip down to the Causeway to see how the ice is holding up. The Port of Nome looks like another planet in this light. I managed to capture a few shots of the dredges—one sitting out there all by its lonesome and a few others tucked in for the season.
It’s quiet out there right now, but you can almost feel the energy waiting for summer mining to return.
