That's a wrap on the 2026 motorsports photography season.
Well folks, another racing season has officially come to an end, and what a season it has been.
With my final batch of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series photos now posted, I figured it was time to look back at what has been an incredible year for Driven Perspective Photography.
First off, I need to thank my wife April Falkenhein Rodenhofer for being supportive of my crazy hobbies. When we do attend races together, she's sitting in the stands while I'm on the infield shooting races.
Now let's take a look at 2026 by the numbers:
12 different race tracks attended
25 different races and motorsports events
16 different types of race cars
Approximately 9868 photos posted
And that's just the pictures that made the cut. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many pictures I actually took.
My photography season kicked off in February with the Monster X Tour in Springfield, IL. and continued through October with everything from local dirt track racing to some of the biggest names in motorsports.
Along the way, I had the opportunity to photograph some incredible racing, spectacular crashes, wheelies, close battles, and countless moments that make this sport so exciting.
If I had to pick one of my favorite events of the year, it would have to be opening night at The Belle Clair Speedway. Having so many memories of the old Belle Clair, being there to witness and photograph a new chapter of racing in Belleville was something special. Between the atmosphere, the excitement, and the racing itself, it was definitely a night I'll remember for a very long time.
But honestly, every track and every event had something that made it memorable. One of the best parts of this season wasn't just the racing or the photographs. It was the people. I've had the opportunity to meet some great individuals, make new connections, reconnect with familiar faces, and continue doing something I genuinely enjoy.
I want to take a moment to thank all the race tracks, promoters, and organizations that welcomed me and allowed me the opportunity to photograph their events. To the drivers and race teams, thank you for putting on the shows that give us photographers something worth pointing our cameras at. Whether you're battling for the lead, running three wide, or occasionally deciding that four wheels on the ground are completely optional, you certainly keep things interesting. To my fellow photographers, it's always a pleasure sharing the track with you.
And most importantly, thank you to everyone who has supported Driven Perspective Photography throughout the year. Whether that be drivers and teams sharing and or purchasing my photos, people giving my page a follow or just simply taking the time to look through my photos, it all means a hell of a lot!
I am incredibly grateful for all the opportunities I had this year and I am already looking forward to 2027. Until then, thank you again to everyone who helped make 2026 a great year!
