Same gown, completely different look. ✨

This is the same handmade gown from the first post, but with backlighting and a little creative editing, we were able to turn it into something completely different.

That's one of the things I love about starting studio + beach maternity sessions in my Niantic studio. We have time to create several different looks indoors before heading just a couple minutes away to finish at the beach.

If you're planning maternity photos in Connecticut, you don't have to decide between studio and outdoor. You can have both.

From the studio to this... just two minutes down the road. 💙

Having such a beautiful Connecticut beach practically next door to my studio means we can create polished studio maternity portraits and then head outside for the sky, water and movement of a beach session -- all in the same evening.

Studio + beach has easily been my most popular maternity session option this year, and I completely understand why.

We always start in my Niantic studio while everyone is fresh, then head just two minutes down the road to the beach for a completely different look. You get the best of both without having to choose -- and there's no additional charge over my regular outdoor maternity session pricing.

All of this was photographed at home too.

This sweet girl looked so pretty in the soft rosy pinks, and I love how much variety we were able to create without her family ever having to leave the house.

Before every newborn session, families fill out a visual questionnaire so I know the colors, poses and setups they love. Then I plan everything ahead of time and, for an in-home session, pack it all up and bring it with me.

Yes, we can create this right in your home.

For in-home newborn sessions, I bring everything needed to create the same posed newborn images I photograph in my studio -- blankets, wraps, posing supplies, props and more.

You don't need a picture-perfect house or a nursery that looks like it belongs in a magazine. I just need enough space to set up and take care of the rest.

This entire newborn session was photographed right in their home!

When I photograph an in-home newborn session, my goal is to create the same beautiful, polished images you'd expect from my Niantic studio. We can still do posed newborn photos, those tiny close-up details, and of course photos with parents and siblings too.

Sometimes the wind REALLY understands the assignment. 💚

It was incredibly windy at the beach for this maternity session, but instead of fighting it, we used it. Dad tossed the train of this gorgeous emerald gown and the wind took care of the rest. The movement was perfect.

This gown is one of more than 200 pieces available in my maternity client closet, so there's no need to buy something you'll only wear once. We'll choose your looks together based on your style, location and the kinds of images you want to create.

Why choose between studio and beach maternity photos when you can have both?

For my studio + beach maternity sessions, we can start in my Niantic studio with one or more looks and then head to the nearby beach to finish the session outdoors. The best part? This option is included at my regular outdoor maternity session pricing.

And you definitely don't need to shop for gowns. My client closet has over 200 pieces available to wear, including plenty of options for both studio and outdoor photos.

Mom and dad asked if we could add some balloons to his six-month photos, and of course we could! 🎈

The light blue, white and blue chrome balloons were such a cute addition with my little wooden scooter, and judging by that smile, I'd say he approved too.

Milestone sessions don't normally include a full themed setup, but I'm always happy to incorporate a few special touches when I can. These sessions can be booked directly at the link in my bio and are also complimentary for families who book both their maternity and newborn sessions with me!

Six months old, VERY smiley... and still just a little wobbly. 💙 This adorable round prop is perfect for babies who might get a little wobbly or tired after sitting for a while when they are still getting comfortable sitting up. It's the perfect way to give a little support so we can get more adorable portraits.

You don't need to wait until baby reaches a certain milestone to schedule photos. Milestone sessions can be photographed anytime between about 3-9 months, and we'll plan everything around what your baby can comfortably do at the time. Reach out any time to chat [email protected]
