Some more from Berlin and a few side quests. 🇩🇪
…
I am pretty conscious about how much I use my camera during family trips—but when I come home, I’m still sometimes surprised at how little I have on my memory card (singular). I know the uncomfortable truth is that photography has almost completely jumped from personal expression to profession, and…it just feels like work. The burnout periods are now more numerous than the restorative ones. It’s a good reminder to course-correct. To think about the shifting of purpose, direction. Reevaluate. Prioritize.
It’s also…this part of life. Kids are (mostly) grown…time is precious. Whew. I try to be present. Sometimes that means I record what I can of the wonder. But sometimes it means the camera goes in the bag, so the rawness can lodge itself only in my memory. ❤️
