Look how cute these two are sitting together, looking out at the water. 🥹�Such an ordinary moment, yet it became my favorite capture from the entire session.
I had been waiting on a bench at Castle Hill Lighthouse, one of my bucket list locations, for Jake and Danielle to arrive. Jake was proposing to Danielle after many years together! After an obvious yes, we started the “IM A FIANCÉE!” 💍 session. We spent nearly an hour soaking it all in—laughing, celebrating, and having the whole cliffside to ourselves. You’d think those photos would be my favorite.
But after we walked back to Castle Hill Inn, where a private table overlooking the water (complete with champagne and cheese) was waiting for them, we wrapped up with a few more photos and said our goodbyes. As I headed up the hill, something made me turn around—and that’s when I saw this scene.
In this simple frame, you’re looking at years of a relationship that led to this next step—happiness, relief, and two people quietly taking in their future together.
I felt this photo deserved its own post, as a reminder to photographers (and clients!) not to overlook the small, quiet moments. They’re often the ones that matter most. 🤍

Happy International Lifeguard Appreciation Day! 🌊
I got to spend the day with Weekapaug and Westerly Surf Rescue at the Newport Invitational Lifeguard Tournament yesterday. It was a fun, crazy, long and exhausting day for them, but everyone did amazing! Between relays, rowing, paddling, swimming and more it was really cool to watch this happen. Can’t wait to get to editing the action shots!
