Some sessions just mean a little more.

I took these a year ago, and somehow they feel even more special now. Autumn and Manny aren’t just clients—they’re the kind of people who become family. The kind who show up, who love deeply, and who make life brighter for everyone around them.

I’ve watched them pour that love into their friends, into my kids, into every little gathering they host. Whether it’s laughter around a table, a DnD night, or a home filled with Manny’s cooking and Autumn’s creativity… they create spaces where people feel seen and cared for.

That’s what you’re seeing here. Not just photos—but the kind of love that’s built in all the little moments.

These two are something special. And the way they love each other? Even more so.

Every summer I find myself coming back here… Colonial Williamsburg just has a way of slowing everything down in the best way.

I took these photos almost 10 years ago, and honestly? It’s still one of my favorite places to photograph families. The flowers, the soft light, the quiet little corners, and those beautiful early mornings… it all just feels timeless.

Summer sessions here are something special. Kids can explore, families can relax, and we can capture those real moments in a place that already feels like a memory.

I’m opening up some extra dates in July, August and September, including weekdays, weekends, early mornings and later evenings. If you’ve been thinking about updating family photos, this is your sign.

Message me to grab a spot or get on the schedule before they're claimed! If you're interested in a session on one of these dates at an alternative location reach out.

Gianna is Three-ana ✨

I had been dreaming about creating a Princess Tiana inspired session, and this one came together more perfectly than I could have imagined. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted something special… so I custom sculpted and crafted a three foot lily pad just for her.

Every little detail made this session feel like stepping right into the story. The soft glow of fireflies, her sweet little frog companion, the most perfect dress, and those adorable glitter shoes… it all came together in the most magical way.

And of course, the cake from tied it all together beautifully.

Gianna brought it all to life with her personality—curious, playful, and completely in her own little world. These are the kinds of sessions I love most—where imagination, creativity, and a whole lot of heart come together.

The last time the Jones's family photos moved to the studio

We started with some classic family images… and then things got really fun.

Star Wars. Ren-faire. Lightsabers, leather details, and so much personality.

This is exactly why I love what I do. Getting to capture the real personalities of a family—the quirky, the playful, the things that make them them—and watching their story grow year after year.

These are the sessions that remind me photos don’t have to be traditional to be timeless.

Sometimes the weather has other plans.

Ray had originally planned to create her nursing graduation portraits outdoors. When the forecast changed, I was happy I was available for a last-minute pivot to my new studio. With a private studio there is no scrambling to find a backup location, no worrying about rain, wind, or extreme temperatures—just the ability to move forward and celebrate important milestones.

And this was definitely a milestone worth celebrating.

After countless hours of studying, clinicals, exams, and determination, Ray has officially completed nursing school. I loved incorporating her textbooks, stethoscope, graduation regalia, and even the special tassel charm honoring someone important to her journey. Every detail helped tell the story of the hard work that brought her to this moment.

Congratulations, Ray! Your dedication, perseverance, and heart have carried you this far, and I know they will serve you well as you begin this next chapter. Wishing you all the success in the world as you step into your nursing career.

Some sessions are special because of the milestone. Some are special because of the person.

Photographing Kim’s college graduation session was one of those sessions that meant a little extra to me. Her family has been like family to me for most of my life, so getting to celebrate this huge accomplishment with her felt incredibly full circle.

We photographed her session in beautiful Smithfield, Virginia, and I loved how the classic brick architecture and soft evening light paired perfectly with the elegant feel of her cap and gown portraits. I loved the mix of professional portraits, graduation images, and all the little in-between moments that showed her personality and confidence.

Watching people you care about reach goals they’ve worked so hard for is one of the best parts of what I get to do.

Congratulations, Kim. I’m so proud of you and so excited for everything ahead.

There’s something really special about photographing the children of people you’ve known since high school. Watching life come full circle and getting to capture such an exciting season for their family is always an honor.

Haden’s senior session in Yorktown gave us the perfect mix of everything I love about this area — glowing lanterns and brick walkways by the waterfront, soft greens tucked into hidden trails, and dreamy little creek spots that feel straight out of a storybook. Every outfit brought such a different vibe, from elegant and flowy to relaxed and playful, and she made every single look effortless.

I especially love how these images feel both timeless and full of personality. Senior sessions should feel like you, and Haden absolutely brought that to every moment of this session.

Yorktown continues to be one of my favorite places for senior portraits, and sessions like this are exactly why.
