I’m a simple person really. A skate park can be just as rad as the water. Having friends that do both, and make it look beautiful and amazing is a huge plus. I captured some lovely, elegant shots with in the water last summer and we didn’t get a chance to connect out of the water. I watched her skate the whole year while she was at UCLA, winning a 1st time freestyle comp, and we were finally able to connect while she’s been home…hopefully there will be more of this!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Probably one of the most memorable moments with a camera with For those who don’t know, this is kind of who my surf photography started with. I knew Julie from my swimming days and knew she surfed. When I bought a camera and decided I was going to shoot in the water I reached out to her. While she was in New Zealand at the time, she gave me two names. This was 5 years ago.

Fast forward…now she’s due in the not so distant future, 2-3 weeks, and still surfing.

I have focused a lot, 99%, of my shooting with women in the lineup and to get this opportunity was something I have wanted for years…it’s not like this is a daily, weekly, monthly occurrence in the lineup.

Anyway, I feel this, find it beautiful and strong, amazing really and love everything about it.
