Most of you reading this haven’t even looked outside to see that it’s another dreary day. Today is my birthday and I think it’s beautiful day. I am 57 years old and I never thought I would make it this far with my journey with ALS. Eight years ago I was diagnosed with ALS and I was given 2-5 years to live, and with my families history with this disease,I figured I might live 3 years, it never occurred to me that I could survive 8 years with ALS. Although this last year has been challenging and I am starting to have more signs of the diseases progression I am still walking and puttering around some and still able to care for myself, which who could ask for anything more. All I can say is today despite the dreary rainy weather it’s a beautiful day for me.
