Your getting ready space matters more than you might think.

When you’re planning your wedding day, don’t overlook the room where you’ll be getting ready. Look for good natural light, enough space to move around, and somewhere that feels calm rather than cluttered. It makes a difference not only for your photos, but for how the morning feels.

This North Carolina wedding was one I photographed from a little farther away than usual. I was 37 weeks pregnant and couldn’t physically be there, but I’m still so glad I got to be part of preserving these moments through my wonderful associate team.

It’s been a little while.

My last post was May 29, and honestly, I didn’t expect the months after becoming a mother to change the rhythm of my life quite as much as they have.

Motherhood has taken up a much bigger part of my days than I ever could have imagined. I’ve spent these past months learning how to be a mom while also trying to find my way through this new season as a photographer, a business owner, and all the other parts of myself that still matter to me.

It hasn’t always been easy to make space for both. Sometimes motherhood has simply needed all of me.

But I’ve missed this. I’ve missed sharing the work I love, talking about the couples I get to photograph, and showing up here.

So, I’m slowly finding my way back to this space.

There’s a lot I want to share from the months I’ve been quiet, and plenty more ahead. I’m excited to start filling this space again, one post at a time.

Thank you for being here, even when I haven’t been as present. It means more than you know.

A little update over here because a lot has changed since the start of last year.

If you’re new here, I’m Lucia, a wedding and engagement photographer documenting your day with a blend of honest, documentary moments and refined, editorial imagery. I’m so glad you’re here.

Since 2025, life looks a little different in the best way. We made the move to Spokane and I became a mom, which has shifted how I see the work I do in a way that feels deeper and more intentional than ever.

I find myself paying even more attention to the in-between. The way your people show up for you. The moments that aren’t planned, but end up meaning the most. The balance of letting things unfold naturally while still creating space for images that feel elevated and true to you.

I’m still serving couples across the Pacific Northwest and traveling for celebrations wherever they take me. I care just as much about how your day feels as how it looks. I’ll step in when you need guidance, fix the little details, and then step back so you can actually be present in it all.

Outside of weddings, not much has changed at the core. I’m still a homebody, still love slow mornings, coffee, a good book, and time with my husband, just now with a little one in the mix too.

What if your wedding photos actually felt like your day…?

You want to be present. Talking to your friends, hugging your family, not constantly being pulled away.

But at the same time, you do care about how it looks. You’ve put thought into your venue, your florals, the overall feel of the day. You want photos that reflect that.

Most of the couples who book me usually say some version of this:
