Next in the studio was Kellan! Kellan was so easy-going and had some of the bluest eyes I've seen on a newborn. I had the best time getting to chat with mama about all things motherhood and binge-worthy shows. Take a peek at Kellan's newborn session!

It was a busy day in the studio today with two precious newborns. First up was Maizie! This little one was so sweet and she had a head full of dark hair. She has two of the sweetest parents who were clearly made to be her parents. I absolutely loved getting to know them! Take a peek at Maizie's session!

Malachi is 6 moths old and today I had the opportunity to go to his house to photograph him and his family! This little doll loves to stand, snuggle his mom and dad and watch his dog. He may be going through a bit of a sleep regression, but he showed no signs of it at his shoot. He was all smiles! Take a peek!

I was asked recently why it's so important to me to get moms IN the photos. The simple answer is, I know what it's like to not love the way you look, because for fifteen years I looked in the mirror & hated who I saw. I hate knowing other women feel the same. I want them to have at least ONE photo where they look at themselves & see how beautiful the rest of the world sees them.

Society tells us thin is in, wrinkles are bad, we need filler & extensions & GLP1s & teeth whitening & if we don't look like the influencers in our feeds that we are somehow less than.

We consume this info daily & accept it as fact. We start to believe that we're not enough & eventually, we start to say out loud, in front of our daughters, things like 'I'm so fat', 'I need to lose 20 lbs', 'I hate the way I look' or 'I wish I didn't smile like that.' And slowly, over time, those things become the voices in our daughters' heads. They are told they look like their mom, but then they hear mom saying she hates the way she looks. It's toxic & cyclical.

I had a mom who did none of those things & still at 15 years old I looked in the mirror & began hating what I saw. It breaks my heart to know that little girls, many as young as 10 and 11, are looking in the mirror & seeing anything less than the perfect girl that God made. It hurts to know that they feel like they need a full face of make-up to be beautiful or need to diet to stay thin. If you don't think your daughter is hearing or seeing these things, I PROMISE they are.

It may seem like such a small thing, inconsequential even, to think that by taking a photo of a mother I can change any of that. But if I can give a mother 1 photo of herself that she loves, then perhaps she'll say out loud "I love this photo of me" or "I love my smile here" & her little girl will hear it & that can be the beginning of reframing how she sees herself. It cyclical, as I said, so maybe small things like this can begin combatting that cycle.

Don’t make this mistake! You will NEVER regret having newborn photos done. I can say that with 100% certainly. But you will regret not having these photos when they’re bigger.

Most newborn photographers book up months in advance. Because newborn photos are done in the first couple weeks of life, it’s hard to squeeze in sessions after baby is born if you don’t have a session booked.

Email [email protected] or DM to schedule yours or get more information. I am currently booking newborns into February 2027.

When mama reaches out and tell you she wants to do a family session but with it focused more on dad and the kids since he doesn't get in the shots as often, you say heck yes! Especially when it's one of the best girl dads you know.

Fatherhood is often so different than motherhood. For moms it's security and snuggles. For dads it's typically tickling and wrestling and lots of giggles. With moms, family photo shoots are about cuddles and capturing that emotional connection and moms love that. Dad's are more physical and often don't enjoy the family photos as much (although I do try to make it as enjoyable as possible for them). So I wanted to capture that with this crew - EJ doings things he loves to do with his girls ... golf, tennis, running around the country club.

EJ is so hands-on and all three of his girls seriously ADORE him. Their little faces when they look at him is enough to melt you. I am so happy that we could capture some of the chaos that is life with little girls, but in a way that was a bit more dad-focused - especially since it's Father's Day week! Head over to Facebook to see more from this amazing session and see some shots of their beautiful mama and little sisters!

Maternal Instinct - the show on Netflix (not your innate, biological instinct as a mother). Who has watched it? I've had so many people message me asking my thoughts on that documentary (because they know I love a good watch while I edit). And boy did it blow my mind!

That woman is (in my opinion) a psychopath. She is mentally unwell. There is not only no remorse for what she did, but she continues to deny culpability and says the woman asked her to take the baby. What?!?! It's just insane.

Documentaries like this one scare me a bit because it makes you see how much evil there is in the world. While that level of evil is rare, it is there and that is terrifying. I just don't understand how people get that messed up. And she had two children of her own already. Thinking about those poor kids breaks my heart.

I need to hear everyone else's thoughts on this, because that was a doozy! I can't believe how many people she fooled and manipulated. Let me hear your thoughts below.

Tonight was seriously the best night! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. These little girls have sooo much personality and it's one of my favorite things to capture!

I've photographed this family since mom and dad were newlyweds. I've known Bizzy since she was in high school, EJ shortly thereafter. I was at their wedding and I was at the hospital the day Palmer was born. Knowing them through so many seasons of life has been so amazing. Seeing them as a parents is one of the best parts. They are such incredible parents and their love for their girls is palpable.

This shoot was originally planned over a month ago but sickness and rain caused us to reschedule and God really showed out with the weather tonight! It was the perfect evening. Bizzy really wanted photos of EJ and the girls and with it being Father's Day weekend this weekend, the timing worked out perfectly!

We played on the golf course and tennis courts tonight and I firmly believe that when the girls are grown, nights like these are where EJ and Bizzy will go back to in their memories. Summer nights playing and giggling at the country club. It's pure magic. Take a peek at our night together!
