Joleigh here from Joma Studios – It’s with a heavy heart that I make this announcement:
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, we will be pausing operations, indefinitely. We hope to be able to resume sessions in a normal capacity before too long, but we cannot guarantee that it’ll happen.
Our plan is to complete any current jobs (including Year One programs, although proofing may look a little different later this fall). We won’t be scheduling anything new for the time being. I will still check emails from time to time, though, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.
All of the families who we’ve had the honor of photographing have felt like extended family to us, as well, so we’d like you to know exactly how this has affected all of us. Laura welcomed her sweet little baby girl into the world this past May – she’s perfect and I’m very much looking forward to meeting her! Because of the pandemic and Little Miss’ risk factor, Laura and I have decided that it would be best for her to stay home for the time being.
My family has had a few run-ins with Covid. My husband runs a nursing home, so we have to be extra vigilant. He caught, and recovered from, Covid over the summer which threw a major monkey wrench in scheduling for me and the studio. My kids are back in school (which I thought would allow me to schedule regularly again) but after three weeks, they managed to catch a cold and are quarantining again until we get results from a Covid test for my 7-year old. Needless to say, every time they become ill, in the slightest, the school will require them to be home for the safety of everyone else, and this has created a scheduling mess. I am grateful for the efforts of the school corporations and will happily work with them on this. This means, however, that I need to remain flexible. I have chosen to work in a different capacity from home for a while.
