Putting up my camera for a small break! Football starts tonight and I leave next week to go see our son in GA for his final OSUT Graduation from the U.S. Army!

Having these adult kids makes me truly have a different perspective when photographing smaller families. I want our time together to be led by the kids, relaxed and allowing them time to get to know me, get comfortable with me and feel comfortable in front of the camera. I think I had just as much fun as these girls did during this session! Thank you Elliott Vanderlaan and LaRissa Vanderlaan for spending your night with me!

I love it when clients are walking away after a high energy session (yes these girls were 100% high energy or just purely running off adrenaline because school started and bedtime was past or approaching).

I imagine the mom thinking "that was pure chaos, I don't think she got any good ones" while at the exact moment I am thinking "this was such a great session, pure gold and I can't wait to see them on my screen".

Learned what a tree saddle was last night :) it was the one time during the session that Cooper had to teach me how to pose him!

Michigan weather had me STRESSIN last night! All day it was looks fine! Rain was going to start at 8pm, partly cloudy up until then. Checked it 2 hours prior and the rain pushed back to 9pm. Checked it 40 minutes before...100% at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm. Checked it 10 minutes later after losing my appetite and getting irritated....cloudy at 6pm, rain starting at 7pm. TEN MINUTES LATER..........

Reschedules scare me right now but this mama and I just prayed, asking God to hold off the rain for a short time. These kiddos instantly relieved my stress and we just had some fun together while mom and dad watched in the background (just a sibling shoot tonight). Look 2 photos in, I think the only brother took a little too seriously the game of catching them in the blanket....haha!
