In classic coincidence form, the day this photo shoot was scheduled for , we had weather that tried to stop us from being great. But with good energy, great music, and a will to make it work we made it happen!

Today is Alliah’s book signing for a children’s book she just authored. The adverse weather couldn’t stop us during the shoot and it won’t stop her from having a great book signing today. (Not today, Satan😇)

The children’s book is about Juneteenth celebration. Juneteenth something that over the past few years the country has been more knowledgeable about, but many of us have been celebrating for decades.

Some people feel like you have to choose if you want brains or beauty. defied that silly notion and basks in her beauty while still flexing her intelligence. Even though she models, she works as a neuro-oncology researcher while pursuing her career in Neurosurgery.

Impressive.

This was a fun impromptu photo shoot in Brooklyn before one of the shows she was in. Usually people take awhile to warm up to the camera. She came out the gate smoking.

You’re a natural, Ally. Keep up the good work on both sides.

Ohhhhh man! It’s Aries season! Everybody run and hide! 😂 I gotta give a shout to a very special person to me. This birthday shoot was so much fun. Music is always a big part of my shoot. For this one it was all 90s hip hop. is can be on the cover of your beauty mag but don’t let the looks fool you. She can spit a hot 16 of your favorite Ghostface or Mobb Deep verse. (Not better than me though lol)!Shout to you for years of fun doing car hip hop Karaoke, dope hip hop concerts, and wild adventures. Enjoy your day /week. I see you workin out in beast mode. Going to be a hot girl summer! 😆 Happy bornday!

We’ve all lost so many people during the past few years, so maternity shoots are a breath of fresh air. To know a new life is coming in this world with so many loses is a true blessing to anyone that has the chance to give life. The baby was born on the very next day of this shoot. I was happy it went down like that but the photographer side of me said, “How crazy would it have been if while I was shooting her water broke and I captured that as some outtake pictures. That would’ve been epic to catch the expression on her face!

Every time I’m out actively PHOTO shooting in the community, there is a great chance that I’m going to see puttin in some type of work. This past week I watched a team of people from the west ward of Newark come together to petition to get on the ballot to be the next councilman of the West Ward. The support was great and of course Dawn was on the scene. Her energy is always dope and her sweatshirt just put the stamp on it, so I had to pick this one to edit for the gram. We support you Du! Im sure you’ll win. Until I see you in these Brick City streets again- keep up the good work.

Years ago I started a project called The Bricks List. My first guest was Richard Wesley who is a Native Newarker. He wrote the screenplay for Uptown Saturday Night with Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby. The episode had so much historical gems in it but on this monumental loss to our artistic, cultural, and political giant I wanted to post this snippet about his relationship with Mr. Poitier.

So happy to have been chosen to work on this project and photographically document them. These kids were so insightful that they really amazed me during the interview segment every time. Shout to LL Bean for doing this project.

Big ups to Newark, West Side High, Principal Cook, and all the kids that showed up to do something amazing this summer during Covid.
