I gotta say, as a wedding photographer, I get to witness very emotional moments, where people let the feeling take over and open up to just embracing the moments

So … let me share a story, and a “secret” 🤫🤐… I have a “thing” for capturing hugs 🤗

Why?!? Well … I was never a “hug” kind of person, until I met someone very special to me. One day, before me and my wife even started dating, we were seating at her doorstep, chatting 💬 , and when I was going to leave, she “randomly” just hugged me 🤗 … and that felt quite special. I remember that moment quite vividly, the thought, the feeling, the words we exchanged right after that 1st hug 🥰

Hugs have power. Their not a handshake 🤝, a kiss on the cheek, a formality. Hugs are deeper, they hold emotion, it’s the closer 2 hearts will be. Hugs hold memory.

So , yeah … if “randomly” suggest that you hug someone important to you on your wedding day, it’s not for the photo, it’s because maybe it will help you feel and remember moments in a special way

OH YEAH TIP #53 - “looking” happy, comfortable, confident, fun , etc … that’s not a “look”, it’s a feeling, a state of mind. Don’t “look” it , “be” it 😎

When I was doing Jackie Lamoureaux and David engagement session, Jackie told “I love how everyone looks genuinely happy, natural and fun in your pictures” … and that made me think 🤔

So, summarizing my thought… if you’re in front of a camera, think less of how you “look”, and focus more on how you “feel”. Yes, having a camera 📷 point at you might feel intimidating, so let’s just have fun 🤩 allow yourself laugh at your own self, celebrate yourself 🥳, and share the happiness with your partner 🙏
