First met this guy at in Copenhagen on Jan 31, 2008, and knew instantly—just from the way he was manically twirling his drumsticks—that he was a lifer. With years of session work, touring, and the Army of Anyone project with and the DeLeo brothers of , his resume was already stacked.

At the time, was navigating major changes— was gone, David Silveria had been out since 2006, and had to step away mid-tour for family matters. I’ll never forget ’s excitement trying to convince me Ray was permanent… while I drank all his beer.

17+ years later, is still holding it down through thick and thin. 🤘🔥

Fun fact: The next day in Sweden, and Fieldy shot the second half of their first music video, Killing Myself to Live—the first half was filmed outside Boston in July ’06, right after David Silveria’s second-to-last show with the band (you can see David in it).
