Last summer, I directed my first music video with a bigger crew for
The music video and song follows a story of the realization of slowly slipping away from your loved ones through time as we grow older. This story was specifically based off of Amrita’s real life experience with her grandfather’s dementia. When she came to me with this song and story, it immediately resonated. Through living apart from my home, Malaysia for 7 years now, I deeply miss being a part of a place and family and friends and through these years, I have seen so many people go.
For some of the scenes I referred to Amrita’s real life day to day with her grandpa and for the other, my own with my father.
