Summer always transports me back to the taste of honeysuckle, and the bottomless hosta salads that we tossed in our backyard in Brooklyn growing up. That feeling of mud between my fingers as I patted it down to make mud pies in sand toys, and perfecting drawings of boomboxes and rainbows to the soundtrack of scraping sidewalk chalk on the pavement. All the watermelon balls we scooped, and the towels we draped across the patio for beach days with our next door neighbors. There is nothing that comes close to outdoor play in harnessing and unleashing the power of memory. Erbers— thank you for inviting me to be a part of your backyard summer magic ✨

Sure, I remember our first few dates, but what were the hallmarks of our early relationship? Once things got comfortable between us and we were no longer going out on real ‘dates,’ but just hanging out and becoming intertwined in each other’s lives… Such an amazing time to capture— Take me back THERE.

How to go back to sharing my amazing clients’ photos after not consistently sharing here for 2.5 years??!! Laura & Daniel were hanging out on my desktop (easy enough?), and their gorgeous album just arrived… but they’re also so damn cute and it’s almost their wedding 🎉🎊 so give them a shoutout! Hopefully I’ll get better at this part of the job (unlikely) but even if I don’t, I’m so glad to be able to share their love with you ❤️ SO happy for you both!

In a 2 parent household with kids (and maybe also some fur kids) I always try to find what unites the parents. The things that tend to get lost— and then found again, through years of potty training, developmental milestones, stress, birthdays, bedtimes, kids staying out too late at night, ups, downs... all the stuff that makes up life spent together. Where are the shared glances? The shared worries and laughs? The time spent together? Find those.
