Sometimes the proposal planning begins long before the ring comes out. 💍

For this one, my client and I met at Brooklyn Botanic Garden to scout the right spot. Their wedding will be in India, and he wanted their engagement photos to reflect that feeling — greenery, nature, something that would make sense alongside their wedding celebration.

Even though I photograph here often, I still like to walk the location beforehand. Seasons change, lighting changes, and sometimes small details make all the difference when you’re planning a moment this meaningful.

Many of my clients live in NYC and can meet me to plan together. Others travel here from around the world, and in those cases I help guide the location and timing so everything feels effortless when the day arrives.

A glimpse into an Indo-Guyanese Hindu wedding ceremony — from the groom awaiting his bride at the mandap to sacred rituals, the exchange of garlands, and heartfelt blessings from family.

This was my first experience photographing these traditions, and it was incredibly meaningful to witness how love, culture, and community came together in such a beautiful way.
