We already accept this everywhere else.
Undercover narcotics officers work behind anonymity. Witnesses testify behind screens. Jurors in organized crime cases are kept anonymous by court order. Federal agents on cartel task forces don't put their faces on the internet. Nobody argues about any of it, because everyone understands the reason.
Then an ICE agent covers his face and it's suddenly a constitutional crisis.
The reason hasn't changed. There are people cataloguing these agents by face, then name, then home address. Some have had their kids' schools posted.
You want accountability? Badge numbers. Body cameras. Supervisory review. Every one of those works without publishing a man's face for people who've made a hobby of finding his family.
