Prepare yourself for one of the sweetest proposal stories of all time. ✨ A few weeks before our session, Thomas had proposed to Rachel with a beautiful diamond band. She of course said yes, but the proposal wasn’t quite over. Thomas had secretly flown back to their hometown of Chicago the week prior to get his Dad’s gemstone collection. He was a traveling man who had collected gemstones from all over the world during his life. So while the proposal was happening, their friend Madison of who is a jewelry designer was setting up the gemstones, design tools, and champagne to continue this proposal. When Thomas and Rachel got back to their home, Rachel got to sit down, look at over this beautiful collection and then hand pick and design her ring with Thomas. Madison flew back to Chicago, crafted her ring, and then sent it back to Thomas. Although they were technically engaged, Thomas proposed during their photos with me with this ring from his father’s collection where Rachel got to see it finished for the very first time. It was one of the most beautiful ways to honor his dad and to also honor Rachel as the person she is to Thomas. There were tears and grins and I just sat back and thought, “I’m truly lucky to get to be apart of this.” Love you both and love your love story. 🩶

A cowboy and his lady and some horses and cows. A dream. ✨ Evette asked if we could take their engagement photos at their home since that’s where their reception will be. Of course I jumped at this. We played with the horses, watched the sunset over the foothills, and the finished with a dance in the arena, the same place their first dance as husband and wife will be later this year. Truly a perfect evening. ✨

Josette and Masoud’s tea ceremony the night before their wedding. Filled with a smiles, tears, and honor. My personal fave was the door game where the groomsmen and groom had to bargain with the bridesmaids with gifts to be allowed into the home, but after that, it was such a blessing to watch both M and J honor a number of family members on bended knees with tea and share sweet exchanges of words, hugs, and kisses. People are so cool, am I right? So lucky to live in a world with so many colors and cultures and beauty. I love this life. 💛

I’m great at keeping secrets but my GOODNESS it’s hard. The news is out and I can finally share that this was my absolute best friend’s sweet pregnancy announcement 💛👶🏽

I remember the moment I saw those two lines turn pink when I found out I was pregnant with Meika, this girl was the first soul that knew. We’ve been through all the highs and lows together. To be able to document these moments, I truly could not be more thankful. Bridget, I love you more than oxygen, TRULY. Congratulations my twinkle. Now let’s find out what this little bb is going to be. 💛✨

A week ago we went to the ER for a stomach ache. Now we’re home, one less kidney, a new journey ahead. I will not sit here and say this is easy. No one prepares you for the season when the your mom and your daughter are simultaneously fighting cancer. There is no pain like watching your child cry in a hospital bed and tell you through tears that she doesn’t want to be sick. There is nothing more frustrating than wanting to and being more than willing to take the place of someone you love so they don’t have to experience the disease, but not being able to. But in that same breathe..

There is no hope or safety or security or LOVE quite like Jesus’. There is no possible way I could mentally or emotionally navigate this without Him. There is absolutely no explanation outside of Him for the peace that I have. It’s peace and hope that makes no sense. It’s being able to offer up thanksgiving in the bleakest of times. It’s being able to rest and trust when there are still many unknowns and questions to be answered. I texted a friend last night and said “I can honestly say, I have never trusted Him more in my entire life.” Because sometimes people see God as someone who is just watching the suffering in this world like the Truman show or something, but the reality is that Jesus understands our hurt and feels it more than we ever could comprehend. He is with us in the throes of it all. We are standing on the same side of the pain. He experienced it all, even death, and overcame. He is the most trustworthy and safest person. And even in my absolute mess and filth, He is sat with me in it and never left me. Oh what a love. What grace He has for us.

We begin chemotherapy on Wednesday and we are being carried by Him every step of the way. Thank you to everyone who has prayed, called, supported. We are so thankful. To each of you, I love you and I pray that you also have God given hope for tomorrow no matter what today looks like. 🤍
