Exciting News: Juneteenth Exhibition at Monad Gallery

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve partnered with Monad Gallery to showcase my photography as part of their upcoming Juneteenth Exhibition!

This special collection explores themes of freedom, identity, memory, and community through the lens of contemporary fine art photography. It’s a deeply personal and creative reflection — and I’m honored to be part of this powerful celebration.

Even more meaningful: this marks the first time in over ten years that I’m exhibiting my work publicly. I’d love for you to come share this moment with me.

📍 Location: Monad Gallery, 253 Nostrand Ave (between Lafayette Ave & Kosciuszko St), Brooklyn, NY 11205
📅 Date: Wednesday, June 19th, 2025
⏰ Time: 8:30 PM – 11:00 PM

RSVP: If you’re planning to attend, please email me your full name so I can add you to the guest list.

Let’s gather in the spirit of reflection, resilience, and creativity. Hope to see you there!

In 1958, rookie photographer Art Kane had an idea to take a huge group photo of as many jazz icons as possible for Esquire magazine.

A street in Harlem was chosen as the location and invitations sent, but no one quite knew who would turn up or how it would all work.

To Art Kane's delight, they did come and it did work – 58 musicians, including many jazz legends, turned up.

The photograph is now considered one of the most iconic in modern music history and has spawned many homages over the years.

This production was a special tribute to the legendary Melvin Van Peebles, presented by Lincoln Center in honor of what would have been his 92nd birthday. *M.V.P.* was a multimedia concert experience that offered a deep dive into Melvin’s life and passions, led by his son, Mario Van Peebles. The evening showcased a captivating blend of film and music, brought to life by the dynamic sounds of Burnt Sugar the Arkestra Chamber, a soul-jazz-hip-hop-funk fusion collective and longtime collaborators with the Van Peebles family.
