Back into the grind with my second editorial ever that I shot back in November that got published in ! The first one I ever shot was also the first time I shot two models at once, so it's only natural to shoot 6 models for the second time right? This was a beautiful shoot that needed a lot of things to line up with the weather and timing, and a bit of hustle having everyone make it to the bridge but I'm so thankful for everyone going above and beyond for this shoot! I'll be sharing more of this for the next few posts so stay tuned!

New year, new portrait profile. Every year we get a bit better, and this year I want to do a lot more. Loftier goals involve writing more, personal video projects, and of course, more and better photos always. What are your goals coming into the new year/decade? Looking for accountability blood pacts.

As the first post of 2020, I wanted to start off this year with a lesson I want to live up to every day. Earlier in the summer, I came across a new dance company on my photowalk when I just happened to walk by their performance on Bryant Park. Wanting to get into dance photography, I made a very abnormal decision to reach out and do my first cold-call. I've never been the kind to message someone I don't know out of nowhere, but I'm so glad I did. and I got to collaborate on a full-on photoshoot for her new dance company, !

The lesson I got from this shoot is the lesson I want to embrace going into the new decade, which is to always reach out and make the ask. This shoot, and so many of my biggest opportunities would have never come to fruition if I stayed the course and did nothing on my own. Thanks so much to Talissa for giving me an opportunity and all these amazing and talented dancers with Bright futures.

I am entering my third full year of photography not only as a much better photographer, but as a better person. Looking forward to 2020 and so many more years doing amazing things!

And I want to make myself as available as possible for any creative projects, especially dance, so feel free to reach out to shoot! @ New York, New York

It will have been about a year ago since I did this shoot with . This was a result of telling someone to stick their head in the tree at Bryant Park. I walked by that tree today and remembered to always challenge what you normally see. Excellence is often hidden.

The last few weeks has kept me busy, but that doesn't stop me from rounding out this session! This is actually just one room out of the whole set, but to those who have been taking a look at my website, there's been a few changes coming up. Expect a more comprehensive revamp in 2020! Also looking for people to shoot in the cold in the next few weeks!

Another exciting practice in lighting at the wonderworld was trying to find the exact spot to stand in front of this pink wall to not get a funky shadow from one of a dozen tiny spotlights aimed at random places. Props to for mastering the art of being able to keep a pose while shifting a few inches to adjust!

A few weeks ago, I got a chance to to do two things I haven't done in a long time: shoot at an art pop-up, and shoot with ! She was in the first batch of people that I got to do portraits with, and I'll always do right by them. Also got a chance to shoot at another iteration of . Pop-ups are an amazing way to flex some creative muscle with using the space, and I'm thinking of dabbling with maybe doing even more creative portraits, starting with this image. If you didn't notice, mirrors don't work like this!

One more round of this photoshoot that got in . I wanna do some winter weather fashion street editorials next. If only there was some brand that has some heat tech and is also stylish that wants to give me stuff so I can shoot for them. Also up for fashion collabs!

Another from the published set! This was a very hectic shoot to do with all the foot traffic, but oddly enough I have exactly this experience in doing portraits and I'm most appreciative of that.

After about a month or so keeping it under wraps, I can finally share my first editorial shoot! Prior to this I'd only shoot guerilla with a single model, so this was a huge leap of faith to accept. I'm even super jazzed to hear when this got published to which is super nice to hear for a first attempt. I'll be showing some more from this series and the processes in the coming posts!

Work has been pretty manic with our end of year campaign so I couldn't actually get to shoot, but continuing my close-up streaks, here's one of the best close-ups I had from a previous red Riding Hood shoot!

This again was purely natural lighting, finding a complementary background color and good shade.

More close-up light studies, this time with probably close to my ideal use of golden hour. A simple color palette of black and gold makes for a VERY striking look, and having a great model like add to it made this a great portfolio piece!
