Feeling super grateful to aka and for including me in their show at yesterday. What a talented group of people! I showed photographs of my grandpa that I took during our time in quarantine. Definitely a nice way to celebrate being back out in the world again ☀️✨

Thankful that this past year of quarantine has been spent with my family. It hasn’t always been easy for my sense of self to be living at home at this stage of my life (even those more than half of people my age are and there’s really no shame in that) but, at the end of the day this time is precious and likely won’t happen again. Appreciating every moment of it 🤍

Some shots of my Gramps getting the vaccine this week. Feeling very thankful that he’s gotten the opportunity to receive this first dose and we’re one step closer to immunity.

The sacrifices both my mom and I have made this past year have really been entirely for him. It’s felt like everything has come down to this, so being able to photograph it was very important to me.

And while I’m already rambling I might as well say that it hasn’t always been easy to post content that doesn’t fit the mold of what’s typically “Instagram worthy.” It’s taken real effort to not base any of my photography’s value on likes. So I want to thank everyone who’s been supportive of my creative journey on here. It means a lot!

This year has been the strangest most dystopian experience. Who knew a year ago that I’d be cutting my grandpa’s hair in his living room. (I wear a mask around him just in case) I feel blessed that this has been my experience — mostly sitting indoors reading and taking pictures with my family. It hasn’t been easy but I’m thinking of all the family/friends/people in general whose memories of this time will be much more painful. If you have the privilege to be able to stay inside, please do — you’ll literally save lives. I can’t wait to go out and hug people again 🥺

A little portrait of my great grandmother inside my great grandfather’s watch. She passed away when I was 9 but I had never seen a picture of her as a young woman until now
