Leica Life Cycle (2022-2026)

I first got this camera on February 23rd, 2022 (slide 1) when I bought it from the homie . At that point it had already passed through 2 incredible photographer’s hands both Dylan and , two really great homies I went to SVA with.

I quickly fell in love with the camera and we basically became inseparable. I would always have it with me everywhere I went, putting it through the ringer daily. Safe to say that caused a good amount of wear and tear on the camera, but in my opinion cameras are meant to be used, not put on a pedestal.

After 2 years of owning it, I brought my camera with me to Paris in September of 2024 and it suffered in an accident when I fell off a bike 🚲💥😭. It already had some minor issues, but from that point on, it stopped functioning correctly altogether, and slide 2 was the last photo I made with it on September, 19th 2024 before it malfunctioned.

To be honest, 2024 was a rough year for me in general, so rather than try to find a solution I decided to just ignore it, leaving my precious Leica on a shelf, just abandoned, collecting dust, my heart aching every time I would look over at it.

After about a year without it, I finally decided to do something about it, and thanks to and the awesome squad over at the I was able to get it repaired exactly 6 months ago 🙌🏽❤️‍🔥. Slide 3 is the first photo I made right after getting the camera back in basically brand new working condition on October 19th, 2025.

I don’t share nearly enough of the photos I’ve made over the years with my Leica, but that’s something I would like to change. I would love to put together a comprehensive collection of images and really flesh out a coherent body of work from the thousands of photos I have sitting on my hard drive. Stay tuned 🫶🏽❤️‍🔥

Four Strangers At Gatwick Airport, 600 Polaroid Film (2026)

As I arrived to the airport ready to board my flight to New York, I realized that my Polaroid SLR 680 still had half a pack of film left in it. Rather than let it go to waste and risk it getting fried by the x-ray machines, I decided that before going through security, I would step outside of my own little bubble and ask random strangers if they would be open to me taking their Polaroid. Surprisingly, I didn’t receive a single rejection, if anything people were flattered to be given the opportunity of this photographic exchange.

I think there’s something to be considered about the environment of an airport and how it’s such a transient space, in a state of impermanence where people are constantly coming and going, that along with the nature of a Polaroid as an instant representation, capturing that impermanence. I didn’t get any of these people’s names. All the interactions were basically the same: me approaching them, asking if they would be open to me taking their Polaroid, them agreeing, posing them in front of the first white wall I could find, thanking them and then parting ways. It’s so interesting to me how quickly you can connect with people through photography, and that’s a big part of what I love about this practice.

BTS of the rose I photographed last week… my neighbors were looking at me crazy when I was setting up all this lighting and the backdrop at 9:30pm just to photograph a flower in my grandma’s garden.
