A lot of what we receive at the lab for restoration is the only copy anyone has. A grandparent’s portrait, a wedding photo, a forgotten box of old negatives. By the time it reaches us, it’s usually torn, faded, water damaged, or the color has started to shift.

We restore old prints, flat art, and original negatives. We scan the piece, retouch it digitally, and send you back a restored file. If you want something to frame or pass down, we can make a new print from it too.

If you’re unsure whether yours can be saved, contact us by email or phone, or better yet, stop by with your originals, and we’ll let you know what we can do.

We recently printed a photograph for J Henry Fair’s exhibit Crime Scene, now on view at the Barn @ Downing Yudain in North Stamford, CT. Much of Henry’s recent work is centered on environmental issues, and this show draws a connection between what he calls his beautiful pictures of terrible things, and the environmental reality they document. Playing on the trope of crime scene evidence boards, the exhibit creates its own board that addresses climate, environment, and human cost.

Henry also has a separate exhibit, A Great Breach in Nature, on view at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT, open now through February 7th.

We spent the last few weeks printing, proofing, trimming, and packing prints for Lauren Edelstein’s upcoming show, Have A Nice Day.

Lauren’s images are made entirely out of emojis and transformed into dense, playful, meticulous compositions. It’s always a surprise seeing what she comes up with next.

The show opens Thursday, October 1st and runs through November 4th, with prints available for purchase.

Our friend and photographer Julien Roubinet grew up in France in the 1990s, absorbing American culture through MTV, before moving to New York in 2012 for a finance internship that turned into a decade spent building a photographic archive instead. We’ve made many prints from his series The Cassette Tapes, but he also explores themes of beauty and consumption in his work.

The Production of Meaning is a series of large format photographs of the objects used to make photographs: SLRs, point and shoot and large format cameras, rolls of film. The images isolate parts of the object, emphasizing its complexity and detail of its textures and shapes. The large format, the attention to detail, the neutral grey background are the standards of contemporary advertisement’s visual language, directed toward consumerist desires. The series addresses beauty as a selling argument, and the provocation of consumption. Julien has more than 100 objects. The series is ongoing.

Institutional archives and personal collections tend to hold decades of undigitized material, negatives, prints, and works on paper. Condition changes with time, and the window to recover a clean, accurate scan narrows the longer materials sit. LTI works with foundations, galleries, and estates on archive digitization at scale, as well as individuals with a lifetime of unscanned work, with attention to condition and archival standards. If you’re managing a collection that needs to be digitized, reach out to discuss scope and timeline.

For the second installment of our Photobook series, we are featuring Tyler Haughey’s Everything is Regional. The images depict quiet, off-season motels and roadside architecture along the Jersey Shore. They are symmetrical, precise, and satisfying to look at. We’ve been working with Tyler for years on his various exhibitions, scanning his film and printing his images at a large scale.

We had the honor of producing a number of the prints for Talia Chetrit’s exhibition Bunny in Madrid. Talia has been a client of LTI for years, and print production with her is always a close, careful collaboration. Getting every print right matters, and seeing the finished work make its way to Madrid was a great feeling.

For her first institutional solo exhibition in Spain, Chetrit presents a selection of works that moves playfully between portraiture, tableaux, and still life, placing past and present photographs in dialogue within a single visual sequence. Curated by Stella Bottai and organized by the LOEWE Foundation on the occasion of PHotoEspaña 2026, Bunny is on view at Museo Lázaro Galdiano, Madrid, closes this Sunday, August 30th.

Catch the show while you can! Congratulations, Talia, on a beautiful show.

For the past few weeks, we worked with José Castrellón to produce a new print, “Croc & Sargasso,” for an upcoming group show from his new series TÓMBOLO.

TÓMBOLO is about Panama’s creation and the literal force of nature behind it. Panama’s history is one of continents uniting, oceans dividing, mountains emerging, jungles overflowing, and fauna from two hemispheres coming together.

This image, titled Croc & Sargasso, holds a quiet irony: the “croc” is plastic, not animal, a manmade double for the crocodiles that increasingly move through Panama’s waterways. Paired with sargassum, a drifting signal of warming seas, the image captures a coastline where nature and its synthetic double have become inseparable.

Stay tuned for TÓMBOLO’s upcoming publication this late fall.

We recently got to print a captivating project by Jackson Krule:

Jackson Krule has spent nearly a decade photographing Kiryas Joel, a Satmar Hasidic community in upstate New York, a level of access that’s rare for an outsider to gain, let alone sustain. He started in 2017, at the community’s Lag Ba’Omer celebration, and kept coming back. The work is built on patience and trust.

Krule was raised in an Orthodox Jewish community himself, and that shapes how he sees Kiryas Joel: familiar, yet distant, toward a community often misunderstood from the outside. His photographs move between large public gatherings and quiet moments at home. Faith, tradition, family life. Nearly 60 percent of Kiryas Joel’s residents are under 18, visible throughout, children and family are everywhere in the work.

The series appears in American Shtetl (Princeton University Press, 2021), has run in The New York Times, and has been recognized by American Photography and the Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward competition.

Jackson currently has a print sale for Kiryas Joel, see his website to purchase.
