Layla Love’s art aims to illuminate our human consciousness. She captures life as a series of adventures and expeditions into the unknown, returning always with a greater sense of what it means to be human. Having been in both foreign prisons and royal palaces she has learned to employthepowerofcreativeforcetotranscend. Her intentionistoilluminateandrevealinthe hopes of igniting a spark of activation. After studying journalism and global communications at Richmond International University in London she realized that visual imagery has the greatest impact in our modern communication process., At 21 she began a five year photojournalism tour to war torn and compromised region with a focus on the plight of women. In New York and other cities she brings her experience to gallery walls - leaving the rest to you...
Love sees a world where art changes people, and people change the world. HerStory:
Love has been working in the darkroom ever since she was twelve years old. She had spent the previous seven years in a wheelchair due to a rare neurological condition called Dystonia, much like Parkinson’s. During that time, she found her freedom through the lens of her camera. Photography gave her a way to participate in life and capture the movement that was so
unattainable to her. Through self-reflective art therapy, in conjunction with western and natural remedies she was able to use her creative training and tenacity to circumnavigate the globe several times over. In contrast, her childhood was full of movement in that she traveled continuously and cross continentally as she has dual EU and US citizenship. Her mother believed in continuing the migration pattern of her Gypsy Pagan parents. Her father, on the other hand, comes from an extremely stable background and exposed Love to the higher echelon of conservative Washington, DC where her grandfather was the public relations director for Martin Luther King. Love dedicates her life to humanitarian and philanthropic initiatives through creative expression. Since the beginning of her career she has donated half the proceeds from of her work to nonprofits and programs supporting the environment and human condition. Love has recently brought her service through art to a new level in the launching of her own nonprofit, Rise of the Butterfly, co-founded with Gloria Steinem. The mission is to expand the reach of art as visual-aid to evoke activism in a public domain, and provide a sustainable source of funding for grassroots organizations working to help women and girls around the world rise. Fine Art Gallery Work:
Love’s photography has been exhibited worldwide including a photographic selection to the White House permanent collection in 2008. She has shown with Eric Franck Fine Arts at Paris Photo, Art Basel, the MoMa sponsored AiPAD Photography Show in New York, which is the longest running and foremost exhibition of fine art photography. She has participated in over 100 photographic exhibitions with world-renowned artists such as, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Robert Mapplethorpe, Pablo Picasso, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Kara Walker. Love’s image The Fullest Bloom, was adapted individually for over 30 Tiffany & Co. Diamond Showrooms worldwide attesting to Love’s attention to detail and mastery of fine art printing. Creative Collaboration:
● In addition to traditional fine art gallery work, Love has expanded her creative platform through collaborations with a multitude of other artists and innovators she respects. Love was honored to contribute the visuals for a fifty city tour, Hurricane Season: The Hidden Messages in Water, with activists and spoken word artists Climbing Poetree. Love has collaborated with numerous visionary artists such as Amanda Sage, Ernest Fuch, and Android Jones. She is a huge believer in fusion art and has worked with people in numerous fields including photographic work with Jane Goodall, exploring quantum

physics with Nassim Haramein, and studying the consciousness movement with Marianne Williamson. She was the art director for Birthing 2012, a 48-hour live conference broadcasted in 140 countries worldwide with Barbara Marx Hubbard about evolution by choice, not by chance. Love has created many visual collaborations with Michael Bernard Beckwith, producer of The Secret and host of Help Desk on Oprah Network. Love adapts the application of her art from street art campaigns to virtual reality, with the intention of reaching her audience at all levels of engagement. Personal Statement:
Art loses its ego when paired with purpose. In a world where we are never the same person twice, I hope we find time to engage: life is, after all is a collaborative performance...

Conductor

In quantum physics it is said that life is held together by energy frequencies woven together.

This image of the conductor alludes to the goddesses of fate. They are always working in the background of our lives, weaving the threads of our destiny into an intricate tapestry of people and places and circumstances divinely orchestrated to bring us into a manifestation of the individual masterpiece that is our intrinsic soul purpose.

Let this image speak to you of destiny and guiding forces that weave everything in life together into a beautiful symphony.

Fibonacci Love Affair

Collaboration with Android Jones

Available for viewing in New York City

Evoking the principles of physics and light, Fibonacci’s mathematical sequence can be found in nature's patterns and has been sighted as proof of a universe designed by and for love. Everything that is shaped in the physical realms is born out of stardust. Every molecule contains these complex sequences and sacred geometrical patterns. As the Fibonacci sequence is directly related to the golden ratio this image has been created using 24k gold to illuminate the truly precious nature of our existence in this wondrous universe.

Artifact

The most awe inspiring element of art is its ability to be of the moment while encapsulating the essence like a time capsule. The essence is then carried throughout human history.

By doing this it gifts us the ability to reflect and hold onto that which is most dear - much like this man holds onto the bodice of a woman in a sacred embrace that has withstood the test of time. It reminds us that the best things in life have been around forever. We use artifacts to trace life back to its ancient roots in order to remember what really matters.

Art in the Making

Collaboration with

In the remote outskirts of Bogota, Columbia, Love was inspired by the psychedelic nature of collaborator Alex Sastoque. There are many layers to this image. We painted the woman’s body with gold and the colors of Columbia. She then transferred that gold through her paint brush onto the painting of the Amazonian indigenous children dancing and praying behind her.

This image is to remind you that life is imitating art, & art is imitating life. In the moments where you can’t tell which is which is when it gets good. This artwork is quintessential in its dichotomy.

Material: Printed on pearl based iridescent photographic paper.

Size: 90” x 120”

Edition: Unique artwork 1/1
