🦋 The “Papiliones” (butterfly in Latin) series features butterflies photographed in Costa Rica and digitally abstracted between 2015-2016.

🦋 Each medium format image is manipulated to present “butterfly blots,” her take on the psychological ink blots known as the Rorschach Test. The butterfly has traditionally represented a symbol of rebirth and transformation.

“I went to Costa Rica to get away from the urban intensity of New York. While I was there I spent a lot of time in nature, and got an opportunity to photograph the wild butterflies of the region. The images inspired me to create this abstract series, which in many regards is a reflection on my own personal metamorphosis.”

I'm honored to support the Coalition for the Homeless with my artwork "Blue Rose" which will be featured at the gala fundraiser on Nov 16th presented by at and is currently live for bidding in their benefit auction on 💙

All proceeds from art sales support the Coalition’s 11 lifesaving programs that provide emergency food and clothing, eviction prevention, crisis services, permanent housing, job training, and programs for youth to more than 3,500 homeless and at-risk individuals daily.

💙 Your support this year is especially important, as the Coalition is now in a very heated battle to stop NYC Gov shutting down the Right to Shelter. Denying the Right to Shelter will result in a huge surge in the number of people sleeping on NYC streets. Take home a beautiful artwork and support the homeless.

The auction features a number of incredibly talented artists including , Shepard Fairey , , , Patrick McMullan and more

Bidding on artwork will close on Thursday, November 16th at 9:30pm EST.

"In the Light 2" (2016) from the "Private is Political" self portrait series by featured in ⚡️

“Historically women have used self-portraiture as a means to address their own identity in relation to contemporary society and social constructs. The artists featured in SELF REFLECTION, using their own bodies as a catalyst, metaphorically regurgitate the stereotypes enforced upon women and address not only their own personal conflicts but the psychological and political conflicts of women at large, using their own likeness as a tool for enlightenment. In light of the modern-day obsession with the selfie, it is important to turn an eye on the work of contemporary female artists who address self-portraiture, not with self-promotion in mind, but to interrogate contemporary society and the social and political values we grapple with.” - Curator Indira Cesarine
