I still get butterflies in my stomach just before a shoot and then right after it is over, when looking back at what has been done it is a great feeling of having made something from thin air.

Some sessions stay with you.
Adam Spector has led Fiduciary Trust International for years, a firm that has quietly served some of America’s most prominent families for nearly a century.

When he reached out to book a session, I didn’t take that lightly.

He understood something that matters more than most people realize, that when a publication tells your story, the photograph carries as much weight as the words.

A great portrait isn’t just about looking good. It’s about feeling confident in front of the lens, and having someone behind it who knows how to translate that into something the world can see.

That’s what I showed up to do.

I just tried to make sure it was worthy of his story.

Grateful this one found its way into print.

Your nerves walk in the door. Your best photo walks out.
In 30 years behind the lens photographing executives and leaders, the pattern is always the same.

The clients who care most about getting it right almost always do.

At Executive Photos NYC, we don’t go straight to the camera. We start with a conversation about who you are, who needs to see you, and what you want your image to say.

Private changing room. On-site makeup station. 100+ images per session.

This is not a rush-in, rush-out headshot.

This is a premium creative session with Michael Benabib, designed for professionals who show up in rooms that matter.

Most professionals arrive with one outfit. They regret it halfway through.
The second look almost always wins because by the time we switch, you’ve warmed up, found your angles, and stopped thinking about the camera.
That’s when the real images happen.

Here’s the prep list we give every client before they walk into Executive Photos NYC:
→ A few solid-color looks. Must be pre-steamed.
→ Arrive photo-ready. You can handle final touch-ups at the studio.
→ Clean manicure. Your hands appear in some frames.
→ Comfortable shoes to travel to the studio, and higheels in your garment bag.
Comfort always photographs better than performance.

This is a premium session designed for leaders who need imagery that works as hard as they do.

If your teams headshots don’t match your brand, doesn’t either.

Different styles, different lighting different tone.
Consistency signals credibility.
It’s a small detail, but it carries weight.

Executive portraits aren’t one size fits all.

I’ve put together a short video explaining how we think about Studio versus environmental Headshots and Y intention matters.

If you’re considering updating yours, this might be helpful.

Take a look.

We recently worked with a leading NYC plastic surgery practice to create a cohesive visual identity for their website.

A strong group image for the landing page.
Individual executive portraits for each surgeon.
And a founder portrait that communicates leadership.

Every image working together to say the same thing:

Confidence. Precision. Trust.

Because in aesthetics and medicine, trust is visual before it’s verbal.

Strong imagery isn’t decoration.

It’s positioning.

Living in the Flatiron District, Madison Square Park is part of my daily rhythm. I walk through it often, especially when a new installation is on view.

One day I noticed Maya Lin standing quietly near her work, observing how people moved through and responded to it. Seeing her there felt significant. Lin is, of course, the artist behind the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, a work that permanently shaped the language of public memorials.

I introduced myself and told her how much I admired her work. She was gracious and open, and after a brief conversation, I asked if I could take her portrait. She kindly agreed.

Photographing her alongside her installation in the park was a meaningful moment for me. It brought together a place I care about deeply, an artist whose work has had global impact, and the simple, human exchange that makes photography so powerful.
