In March 2026, a white-winged parakeet named Bebe joined his owner, Steven Lawyer, on a trip to the Bahamas.

Lawyer, a former physics major, built a custom mini-submarine called the Bebesphere from a clear plastic food container, a paintball air tank, valves, lead weights, and an oxygen meter. After bathtub testing, Bebe calmly drifted for about 15 minutes three feet underwater, watching coral and fish in a sheltered harbor.

The bird entered willingly, showed no stress, and emerged safely. Bebe, already an adventure buddy who skydives and bikes with his owner, enjoyed the view, though the stunt also drew criticism from animal-welfare viewers.

On April 21st, an event I took photos for last year at York College called Aviation day happened again. Aviation Day celebrates aviation and highlight opportunities within the field. It featured guest speakers from top airlines as well as College faculty giving insights and information based off the aviation industry.

(Part 10) I’m very late to post this and to those that have been waiting, I truly apologize once again. On May 3rd, The Airport Community Foundation (ACF) and its partners introduced the ACF Cup, a 5v5 soccer tournament benefiting the New York airport community. The ACF Cup brought together teams comprised of players from airport companies for a day of competitive play and camaraderie. Beyond the on-field action, the tournament highlighted the importance of supporting the next generation of aviation professionals and strengthening community connections while fostering teamwork and friendly rivalry among the airport community.
