The Day After Manhattanhenge ☀️🏙️

Technically, Manhattanhenge is over.

But if you know where to look, the sun is still willing to put on a show. One day after the official alignment, the setting sun still lines up with the Manhattan street grid, only a little higher above the horizon.

Captured once again from the Tudor City Bridge on 42nd Street, this image serves as a reminder that sometimes the best views happen just after everyone else has gone home.

Manhattanhenge Day 2 🌙

Sometimes photography is about adapting.

The full-sun Manhattanhenge alignment on May 29 was hidden behind a stubborn blanket of clouds, turning what should have been the main event into a complete bust. Rather than packing up, I went looking for another alignment and found this lunar scene with the Statue of Liberty.

Not the photo I planned, but sometimes the unexpected image becomes the better story.

Manhattanhenge Day 1 ☀️

The first alignment of the season brought a half-sun sitting perfectly between the buildings of Midtown Manhattan. This image was captured from the Tudor City Bridge on 42nd Street as the setting sun began its annual dance with New York City's street grid.

For a few brief moments each year, nature and urban design line up in spectacular fashion, creating one of the city's most iconic photographic events.

This stunning shot of the Pillars of Creation wasn’t taken by NASA or the James Webb Space Telescope… it was taken by my dad in his backyard. 🌌

He’s always had a love of space, but now he’s combining his telescopes with my love of photography, and the results are out of this world. 🚀✨

Using narrowband filters, he gathered over 50 hours of light to reveal incredible details of the Eagle Nebula and its towering pillars; the tallest reaching 4–5 light-years high.
