row boat sessions are more tricky than they look—even more so if there's even a slight breeze on the day 
 
here are some tips to get the most out of your rowboat session: 
• go right when rentals open at 10am, so that there are fewer boats on the lake with you 
• allot a little extra time for your session. it takes a bit of time to row out from the boathouse area, and it may take a couple tries to get "the shot" especially if the wind and water are pushing you out of frame 
• wear something comfortable and breathable. rowing is a workout!! 
• make sure your phone is charged! we will probably be communicating on the phone, especially for moments when you're farther out on the water

flew down to nashville for the weekend to surprise this girly ♥️♥️♥️  
  
i've always insisted on being the one to photograph tiff's proposal, since she's like a little sister to me. her older sister (my best friend since high school) and i thought there would be no way she wouldn't notice me hiding nearby..but apparently not wearing any black and twisting my hair up into a bun so that the blue isn't so evident is the perfect way (for me, anyways) to go undercover—but i did also consider getting a wig for sh*ts and giggles 🤣

every once in a while, my fellow photographer friends will tell me that they can't shoot proposals cuz they're too stressful 
 
not gonna lie, i still get a little nervous shooting proposals cuz you never know what might happen in the moment. i've had people get down on a knee in the wrong spot or random strangers walk right in front of the camera and just stop, oblivious to the fact that there's a proposal happening right in front of them 😱 but adaptability is part of the job, and the joy i get to capture more than makes up for the stress!
