Balli Kaur Jaswal is a Singapore-based novelist with family roots in Punjab. Her first novel Inheritance won the Sydney Morning Herald's Best Young Australian Novelist Award in 2014 and was adapted for a film at the 2017 Singapore International Festival of the Arts.
Her critically acclaimed third novel, Erotic Stories for Punjabi Women, was released internationally by Harper Collins in 2017. Translation rights to this novel have been sold in France, Spain, Italy, Israel, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Greece, China, Brazil and Estonia.
In April 2019, published her latest work, The Unlikely Adventures of the Shergill Sisters, which was already featured in the Chicago Tribune’s list of 10 books to read in April prior to the book’s release.
Currently she is working on her latest novel.
