Hi friends, CBS Morning Show came to my midtown workspace to do a segment with me. I taught one of the anchors how to carve stone and we spoke about how I thought Mount Rushmore was carved. If you want to check out the segment, it should run around 8:10 tomorrow morning (Thursday). It was fun to film so I hope you can check it out! Happy tv watching!

This weekend (10/17 and 18) we will be part of a citywide event called Open House NY. We are opening the doors of our brand new workspace in midtown Manhattan to the public. There will be demonstrations, an exhibition of finished work, and activities for children and adults. ALL FREE.
There are lots of other fascinating sights within walking distance so you can make a day of it.

On Sunday afternoon we are returning to The Met Cloisters for our 4th visit, demonstrating traditional stone carving skills and techniques for visitors. We are proud of the expanding partnership we have with their educators. Please stop by-especially if you’ve never been to the Cloisters before. Sunday September 21st 1:00-4:00.

Along with our art making activities I feel strongly about doing demonstrations to promote the stone carving tradition. Today we had a very successful demonstration at the Met Cloisters museum. Today we celebrated with the congregation of St Rita’s Catholic Church in Alexandria VA as they marked their centennial and the new tympana that I carved with my friend and assistant, Ed Salerno. It was a monumental achievement for me and I’m proud of the outcome
