A day in NYC through the lens of a vintage camera.

I wanted a pure, walk-around experience today—focusing entirely on composition and letting the vintage soul of a Canon Powershot G11 CCD sensor process those beautiful, nostalgic tones. Featured stops: Coney Island, Aquarium, the Upper West Side, and Central Park.

At the Firemen’s Memorial today, a company stood together in silence and salute as the anthem echoed through the Upper West Side.
Watching them, I felt the strength of a tradition built on bravery and loss.
Grateful for those who serve, and for those we remember.

It completely pulls me away from whatever I’m doing—whether I’m cooking, editing, or writing. Sunsets on the Upper West Side are never a "one-and-done" photo opportunity. They shift by the second, evolving from a slow start to an amazing view, then a stunning display, and finally leaving me completely speechless with my mouth wide open.

I honestly didn’t think I’d see Manhattanhenge today with all those early clouds. But being out and wandering the neighborhood at the right time changed everything!
I didn’t have my real camera, but my phone did the trick.
