Is the photography industry dead?

When I see posts like this, it literally makes me want to vomit at how comfortable people have become with using AI and replacing more than one industry with it.

This lemming is promoting the use of a “$10 app” for his “professional” headshots on his website.

Unfortunately the trend we have been seeing since 2020 and on has been real - so I can’t blame just him for spending less money on what he things are authentic shots.

The path of this entire industry, excluding weddings - which I’m sure will follow - has been more towards this. People are even replacing authentic landscape shots with AI crap and promoting it all over.

What are your thoughts on this? I will forever hire someone but I do see this industry dying out a little bit with each day… (And that’s part of the reason it’s not my main focus anymore.)

Sunset in Santorini. Santorini is a vibe and a photographer’s dream. Is it overcrowded? Absolutely.

Nowadays it appears almost every place has way too many tourists, especially since 2022 and on. But Santorini has its reputation for a reason.

I enjoyed my three days and nights here a lot - mainly because of the picturesque scenes, which are a dream come true in terms of architecture and Greek lifestyle.

One of the only self-portraits I was able to take in Egypt a few months ago. To me this photo summarizes my impressions of Ancient Egypt. The Ankh I’m holding and standing among some ancient hieroglyphs in the golden walls of Temple city.

Right after this, the "guards" of the place came up to me and either harassed me or wanted a "tip" - as in so many places visited. Documenting this journey was hard but not impossible. This was taken in Medinet Habu, right outside the Valley of Kings. Have you ever been?

Medinet Habu close to Luxor in Egypt. Once you get out of Cairo, parts of Egypt really do resemble what I would imagine Ancient Egypt to look like. The pyramids are ahhh-kay - but by far they did not compare to viewing the old tombs of the pharaohs and their wives. Medinet Habu specifically is dedicated towards Ramses III and has his temple. A lot of it also resembles certain parts of Greece. It does flow into the same Mediterranean area after all and you can tell once you're here.

How was it to travel through the Middle East and Egypt alone as a woman? It was intense. The only country and area I would imagine being even more intense would be India.
