I’m so lucky to be a father of daughters. It seems like the hardest parts of parenting are more behind us than ahead of us. Our job to encourage, love, care, protect and guide look so much different when they get one step closer to adulthood. We’re celebrating milestones like homecoming dances and all the little things that brought us to today. Couldn’t be more proud of the person she is.

How do you self-promote if you're a person who doesn't like to self-promote? I think that's why I like being behind the camera. It forces me into a role where I get to encourage and celebrate others. That's really where I want to be. I was recently asked to sit down with to tell a little bit more of my story. My story isn't about me. This week has seen so much tragedy. We’re no strangers to pain and suffering; it’s part of the human condition, but we’re also no strangers to compassion. We hold the power to change the narrative. Will we continue to be divided and let hate and animosity build and grow unchecked or will we find the glimmer of hope in each other? Praying for so much today. If you’re feeling it, let me know. Pretty much every business needs images of what they do, how they do what they do, or the customers they do what they do, for. I get to bridge the gap and tell those stories and authentically connect these brands through images to the people that would benefit from them the most. I’m really just a visual story teller.

As a commercial photographer I get to partner with so many different brands. I like working with small to medium sized businesses. It gives me the chance to really build a relationship with those companies as they grow. I’m better able to understand what my clients really need the more I get to know them and the more they feel comfortable with me and what I can deliver.

Whether it’s knowing the style and target audience for clothing brand’s catalog, creating marketing images for a new product launch and understanding the latest features or elevating the social media posts for a content creator, I’m here for them.

Some of my favorite clients are those individuals or businesses that need to create or update their website. Customers are so savvy these days and can spot stock photography a mile away. Showing off your brand and your personality/style makes you stand out in a crowded marketplace and can make a huge difference. I love the collaborative process. I met Melissa when I was 15 years old. We worked together at my first real job that wasn’t a paper route. We went to rival high schools but that never really mattered much as our friendship has lasted and become so special over time. Having friends like her near by made the transition to the West Coast a lot easier. She needed some new head shots and I got to hang out for a little bit with a good friend. She’s the real deal.

I really love shooting head shots and portraits because it’s the kind of shoot where we just get to hang out as friends, no matter if they’re years or just minutes old. Let me know if you want to hang!

When I tell people that I’m a commercial photographer, it’s not really well understood what that means…but basically it means I get to take images and videos for businesses, brands and individual content creators among other things. I shoot images for advertising and marketing materials, social media content, products, portraits and passion projects all over the place. I seriously love it and seriously love the people I get to work with. There’s so much variety in my week and the people that I meet. Cool if I share?

Having a safe harbor can change everything. Whether it be person, place or peace of mind, knowing you are not alone in the world makes a difference.
