If anyone ever tells you leopard geckos are cute little lizards, perfect as pets and harmless……they haven’t met Jesse. Three times now this guy has bitten me, and three times he’s drawn blood. For the most part he’s fine and can be handled with ease. He used to crawl on my head! He’s never bitten Walt. But he’s got a mean streak in him, at least when it comes to me. This time was the worst as he grabbed hold of the skin between my knuckles and didn’t let go for about 4-5 minutes. I made the mistake of raising my hand once and letting him dangle and he started twisting and shaking his body violently to try and rip my skin. I just had to grab onto him firmly and wait until he let go. Still love the little guy but won’t be handling him for a little while!

I took Walt to see the Black Keys last night (thank you !) at the Brooklyn Paramount and they were amazing! That’s a band that just keeps getting better the longer they’re around. As a bonus I got to see my old friend absolutely shred on second guitar. If you haven’t listened to his own music you absolutely should. did some shredding of his own but to hear the two of them play off of each other was powerful mojo. I was happy to see Walt loving it too, clapping along and pumping his fist! It was a sold out crowd and he wanted to fight our way to the front (I declined). Oh and here’s a tip for photographers bringing a camera in without a photo pass….if they ask you if your lens is removable say no. They won’t let you in with it if it has a removable lens, as they think that makes it a “professional” camera! Sigh.
