Continue to Represent with excellence

Today, Mrs. Jevanah La Rose, Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Guyana to the UN, delivered Guyana’s intervention during a general discussion on the implementation of the United Nations Strategic Plan for Forests (UNSPF) 2017–2030, at the eighteenth session of the United Nations Forum on Forest (UNFF18).

The discussion considered the thematic priorities for the biennium 2023–2024, in support of the implementation of the UNSPF, inter alia. Mrs. La Rose emphasized the role of the UNSPF as one of the important tools for Member States to set up sustainable forest management plan, in line with the country’s sovereignty and priorities. She highlighted the priority of Guyana’s Forest Policy as well as the remarkable initiatives undertaken by Guyana to sustainably managed its forest. Mrs. La Rose reaffirmed Guyana’s commitment to the sustainable management and restoration of forests, and in achieving the targets of the UN Strategic Plan for Forest.
