Celebrating this day means we must recognize it for all it represents, not easy to look at if you have an open heart and open mind.

This day is a memorial, a day of morning and a day of celebration.

Today, I honor the fallen, the millions who died for our freedom.

In honor of the Warriors, the men and women who saw the fire of hatred and walked into it to spark change so the world could see the honest truth.

With their heads held high, only to be beaten savagely because they dare ask to be treated as human during the civil rights movement. 100 years after slavery was abolished.

To be granted freedom, only to be forced to return to servitude to survive.

The crimes against humanity that transpired are horrific.

The bravery that men and women demonstrated, a bravery I am forever in awe of.

In my opinion, we all need to stand back and honor those who fought for change at the expense of their own lives.

To have us all, all races and religions and creeds and genders…

THE RIGHT TO LIVE FREE.

This day belongs to those who suffered, those who fought those who helped great cost to the quality of their lives because in their hearts they knew that we are all

“…created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

The only cure is love. That will break the barriers and allow you to see beyond and within.

What I can say is the following:
