El Monte closes in one week at !

At both the entrance and exit of the exhibition sits el pequeño gigante (the Little Giant).

The title comes from Elegguá, often depicted as a small child. Despite his size, he holds immense power over fate, crossroads, and opportunity. The space was designed so viewers encounter their own crossroads and choose a direction, left or right. Much like in life, we move forward without fully knowing where a path will lead. Every decision opens a different road, each shaping us differently.

Housed inside a found 19th-century European tabernacle, the work draws on the blue and red angels that were already painted inside its doors, colors that recall the Ibeyí, the divine twins, reflecting us as narrators within the story. Inside, a shadow figure appears through floating eyes and wax-covered hands holding two lit candles. The twin flames gesture toward duality and the syncretism that shape the exhibition, reflecting the many paths that unfold from a single threshold.

The Super Bowl has always been a performance of national identity. What makes this moment different is the climate surrounding it, not just the artist on stage. Benito reveals how fragile the definition of “American” can be while reminding everyone that the Spanish language is American, too.

Outtake from our cover story with , also the magazine’s first Spanish-language cover. A testament to his ability to usher in a number of firsts, including tonight’s performance. 💃🏽

Thick with haze and shadow, ’s photographs feel like visions. In El Monte at , experimental in-camera techniques blur photography into painting, dissolving figures into light and color as meditations on doubleness and belonging.

We sat down with for and discussed the designers we collaborated with for our first museum solo at , including , , and , pictured here. We also spoke about Cuban anthropologist Fernando Ortiz, how he coined the term transculturation, and how the fashion industry is a transcultural space. We reflected on how trends rooted in Latin American and Caribbean cultures often enter the global spotlight only after European fashion houses turn to these regions for inspiration. Gracias Vogue!

For the cover of OG Magazine’s Art Basel edition, we created an artwork of , on view December 1st at 20th Anniversary Show. The title, Nature, Nature, I Am Your Bride. Take Me., comes from the film adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s Orlando, a story of becoming across time, body, and gender. Here, our figure is swallowed by shadows and painterly florals, reframing that transformation through Caribbean spirituality and its connection to nature.

Come see it in person, grab a copy of The OG, and read more about this collaboration and our exhibition El Monte, on view at !
