Spent the day in the studio with Kentaro—an incredible artist and furniture maker—and I’m still carrying the feeling of it. There’s something rare about being welcomed into someone’s creative space, watching the work take shape, and realizing you’re not just making a portrait… you’re building trust.

I had the honor of forming a deep connection with .takashina while photographing him in his sacred work space, surrounded by tools, wood, and quiet focus. This image is part of my ongoing portrait series highlighting artists in the Catskills—the makers, the dreamers, the people turning patience into form.

Making a connection with children some 3000 miles from home, tucked away deep in rain forest of Ecuador, you quickly realize we are all the same beings at our core… loving, creative, curious, hopeful, and just want to be part of a community that helps each other out and cares for one another.

I recently visited the jungle of Ecuador and stayed with the beautiful people of the Sapara tribe. Here I learned of their culture and ways they are trying to preserve their way of life and natural resources. My life is forever changed seeing how these extraordinary people live in harmony with nature.
