The awful weather was an appropriate way to sum up the Yankees' 2023 season, as the team was eliminated from playoff contention with yesterday's loss. 😭

But it couldn't stop me from going to the ballpark one last time this year. Even though my camera's not weatherproof, I felt like I got some good shots of the action on the field and scenes around the ballpark.

Fall may be celebrated for football season to some, but for me there's always an emptiness once I know there won't be any more baseball to mark the passage of time until next year. It's the greatest game ever created, and you can't convince me otherwise.

Gina and I were in Oregon this past weekend during our visit to the the Pacific Northwest. On Saturday we took a tour of the Hood River region on the way to Mount Hood.

Being in the presence of such magnificent waterfalls, valleys, and mountains was incredibly fulfilling. Landscape and nature photography is not something one can practice often in Brooklyn, so it was a lot of fun to try something different. I loved making long exposures of the waterfalls that we saw along the way.

I was a little salty at Multnomah Falls because there were so many people there that I felt like I was at Disney World or some other superficial tourist attraction. Still, I used my street photography skills to take a couple photos of the folks observing the falls.

Being behind a camera whenever I'm out shooting, I try not to stand out too much. And this tends to seep into my everyday life - usually to a point where it makes it hard to share or promote my work. So days like today can be a little awkward for me to navigate. But thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! 🎂

It's not very often that New York City looks like it's on the planet Tatooine, so I went out and documented the nasty haze enveloping the city right now.

A moment of tranquility for you on this Sunday.

Discovering the atrium at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta was a definite highlight of our trip here so far. It's up there with the Guggenheim's rotunda as one of my favorite museum spaces to photograph. I caught this man doing what appeared to be yoga poses on one of the concourses, and I knew I had to make a photograph.

In honor of Richard Avedon's 100th birthday today, here's a photo I took at the Metropolitan Museum of Art earlier this year at their Avedon exhibit "Murals".

The exhibit features three large-format panoramic group portraits that take up the entire walls of the gallery. One is of Andy Warhol's Factory, one of the Chicago Seven, and one of a group of men prosecuting the Vietnam War. The larger than life portraits are a real treat to see in person, with their wildly different subjects almost uneasily sharing space in the gallery. They also make me very interested in pursuing portraiture more seriously.

In this photo, I captured a man taking a close-up photo with his phone of one of the people in Avedon's mural. Street photos in museums have become a passion of mine lately. It's always intriguing to see people interacting with artwork or building in some way or another.

Hoping the New Jersey Devils can pull out a victory tonight, if for no other reason than to keep alive a chance at going to another game this season. 😈

Thanks to Gina for hooking us up with tickets to Tuesday's game! Even though the Devils got a beatdown from the Carolina Hurricanes, it was fun watching a game from such a prime viewing spot.
