Winter in the wind. Spring in the light.

Today the wind made New York feel like winter again.
But the sunlight carried a hint of spring.
The season changes first in the light.

INDIGO x RED
The silent dialogue.

The raw, structured depth of indigo denim meets the supple, electric energy of red leather.
What brings the dialogue to life is the model’s presence.

Indigenous heritage meets contemporary fashion.

Designer Shoshoni Hostler of Nar Rew Ekar brought tradition and storytelling to the runway.

▫️NYFW highlights▫️
Another show that stayed with me this NYFW.

Indian designer rooted in Assamese heritage, Sanjukta Dutta reimagines traditional motifs and handwoven silks—like the naturally golden Muga and luminous Pat—into striking contemporary silhouettes.

I’m inspired not only by the strength of her aesthetic and fashion-forward vision, but by her commitment to revitalizing Assam’s handloom industry and empowering local artisans—bringing regional tradition onto a global stage with purpose. Tradition, carried forward with purpose.

NYFW: Another talented designer — Marika Suzuki Only 20, and already fearless.

Using discarded plastic bottles and textile waste,
she transforms them into vivid, dimensional silhouettes — spatial art that touches the body.

Her collection traces her own journey
from childhood to her teenage years —
not as a story of overcoming, but of coexisting with doubt — a personal archive reborn as fashion.

Through my lens,
what stood out wasn’t just the structure —
it was the quiet tension between strength and vulnerability.

▫️Red Scar▫️— my interpretation, at least.

One of the most conceptually compelling NYFW collections of the season I saw.
Ao Miyasaka

The red opened the show.
And it returned to close it.

Red — the color of blood, passion, anger, and love.
To me, it felt like the color of what burns within.

When we spoke, Ao said clothing is not something that covers the skin —
it is an extension of it — as sensitive as the mind itself.

Not hidden.
But shown — in order to let go.

What struck me most was her commitment —
personally visiting Japanese bead artisans and Hannya mask craftsmen, carrying their stories into each garment.
Embroidery here is not just decoration. It is lineage made visible.

And why Hannya?
Transformation runs through the collection.
Raw emotion confronted, then transmuted —
a burning pain quietly sublimated.

The Hannya mask embodies jealousy, sorrow, and anger at their peak — the threshold of awakening.
“Hannya” means wisdom.

The show felt like a powerful embodiment of her theme,
“A Rite of Passage.”

As a photographer, my role is to make that depth visible — to translate devotion, memory, and lineage into image,
and perhaps elevate what may once have seemed like wounds into something luminous.

▫️NYFW: YULIN FW26 collection▫️

The beauty of YULIN lies in the architectural precision of every layer. From the flow of the ruffles to the mix of different fabrics, every detail reveals his craftsmanship and a modern, elegant charm.

I’m sharing these photos because I wanted to capture the meticulous work behind the collection. The runway moves so fast, but these details deserve to be seen closely. Please take a moment to swipe through.
