Is sticking stickers on anything that stays still long enough another form of graffiti/street art?

Maybe, or maybe not, but it does liven up an otherwise plain old grey board fence - in my humble opinion of course!

I came across this sticker collage - and others too on the lovely little Caribbean island of St. Barts.

Life is Art. Graffiti is Fun.

I've visited a number of cities where the local government not only allows, but encourages, artistic expression in neighborhoods zoned for redevelopment.

Rather colorful and talented art than an eyesore any day!

We're out of March already; so it's time to announce another of my monthly giveaways.

For April, it's a 15oz Ceramic Mug printed with one of my seascape series of images from France; GIRONDE SUNSET. The scene is one of the beautiful sunsets over the Gironde River Estuary close to Bordeaux. It's one of my favorite places.

What you see in the image is a stilted fishing hut that I've only ever seen on the Atlantic coast of France.

Some huts can be rented for the day to enjoy a relaxing picnic and a glass of wine with friends. Highly recommended if you're fortunate enough to visit that part of the world.

The image shown here is from the Gironde River Estuary in southwest France. These fishing huts are a common feature on this part of the French Atlantic coast.

Known as carelets, many of the huts are available to rent out by the day. I've spent many a pleasant time hanging out and relaxing with friends in these cozy structures.

The fish have no real worries when we're there though as we're too busy enjoying beautiful summer sunsets with a good french picnic and wine

A penny for his thoughts!

I wonder what this fisherman of England's south coast is contemplating? Would it be the success - or failure of the day's catch? Or, the hardship of his work and the future of his industry? To the first point, beach-launching a boat is no easy task. As to the second, probably OK as fishing boats have sailed from this beach, The Stade at Hastings, for over a thousand years!

Ever had your camera go off accidentally? Me too - many times! This is especially true with my smartphone. It can be very annoying or it can be pleasantly surprising.

Pleasantly surprising was the case with this image when my trusty old Canon G10 fired off a shot of its own accord 😮

The image may not be for everyone but I like it. I think it makes an interesting statement and livens up a contemporary modern grey (is this a fad that will last?) interior.

What do you think of accidental photography? Let me know too, what your thoughts are on cameras that have a mind of their own - and even a "good eye".

I took this photograph from a moving bus a few years ago on a trip to The UAE. Since that time, intentionally blurred photography has become widely popular. I was accidentally ahead of my time it seems! 😮

The room setting here is a very simple eastern aesthetic. The presence of the this image on the soothing grey painted wall adds a nice splash of color. The image is loud compared to the room interior with its minimalistic but functional accessories. I think overall the space works very well 😊

Got bikes? Here's another one - in a sitting room this time, looking like it really belongs there!

It's interesting to see how all the colors in the hanging wall print, sofa and throw - and the bike compliment each other.

All it takes is a little imagination to liven up an otherwise plain room setting with a bold, colorful, piece of art, and an attractive, functional mode of transport!

Staying with the Black & White theme for this post. I came across these two graceful divers in Dubai.

They're part of a huge (probably bronze?) hanging sculpture. From a distance they looked extremely lifelike. I don't know how they feel about being portrayed in B&W but I like it 😊

"Silk Loom Spools, No. 1. USA" is a photograph I took at the old Lonaconing Silk Mill in Maryland.

I've posted color images of silk loom spools before but I like them in Black & White too.

The old silk mill ceased operations in 1957 but its interior is still intact. The original machinery stands idle, trays of loom spools and other silk manufacturing artifacts are everywhere. There's even a calendar from 1957 that still hangs on a wall.

The mill is an interesting historic site and a must-see for photographic opportunities.

I once had a friend who kept his motorcycle in his apartment in Amsterdam. And why not? It was a classic and he loved it! ❤️
The bicycle here looks to be a classic too with it's old-school stylish dropped handlebars and spring-cushioned saddle.

I like the contrast of the colorful hanging image in this room setting. I think the classic bike and modern print compliment each other in this simple hallway.

When considering art for the home or office you don't have to think along traditional lines. A nice piece of wall art can hang in rooms other than the usual living, dining, office, and sleeping spaces. Art can liven up any room - or hallway.
