Taughannock Falls State Park | Ithaca, New York

Happy New Year to everybody and all the best wishes for 2022.
We decided to spend the New Year's holiday upstate and drove up to Ithaca for a few days. There's lots of beautiful falls in the surrounding of Ithaca. Too many to be able to explore all of them during a few days only, especially with the short winter days. We had a beautiful, misty morning at Taughannock Falls State Park.

Island Lake, Marble, Colorado

This was one of the most incredible mornings I experienced at Island Lake in Marble, Colorado. We arrived early morning at the lake for a sunrise shot. However, the lake was entirely covered with mist and Ragged Peak was hidden upon arrival. I met another photographer at the scene who is from around this area and he suggested the conditions might still change. And they did! It was amazing to watch the sun shining through the mist.

Kebler Pass, Colorado

We stayed for a couple of days in Aspen and Marble and decided on visiting Kebler Pass, located in the Gunnison National Forest. The drive is very scenic, especially during fall season. Kebler Pass features one of the largest aspen groves in the world and offers spectacular views of the Elk Mountains. The sky turned into moody storm clouds when approaching the pass, which made for excellent conditions to photograph the colorful aspen trees against dark, blue skies.

Mystic Falls | near Telluride, Colorado

I coincidentally came across a post on this waterfall when searching for the location of the famous “Dancing Aspens” and was immediately intrigued by trying to visit it. This was probably one of the most adventurous hikes we have done so far. There’s isn’t any real trail and we crossed the creek about 5 times before ending up on the right path. I was about to give it up and turn back when Adam pushed to give the last path we noticed a try. And I was so happy we did afterwards. The trail is leading from the top of the falls to the bottom with some scary drop-offs a few times. It is very steep and quite a challenge, but it was worth it. When we finally reached the bottom of the falls, we were astonished by the breathtaking and untouched scenery.

With fall season coming up we have planned to travel to Colorado this weekend. Colorado is my favorite state. I love the beauty of its alpine lakes and the wilderness surrounding them. During fall the famous Aspen trees are covering the state with gorgeous yellow and orange colors and I love returning every fall ;). Here are some of my favorite fall pictures from last year’s fall season taken in Colorado and New York.

We ventured out west this summer to explore some locations we had visited before and some new ones that we thought might be interesting.

We passed many beautiful locations like the Bisti Badlands and White Sands, but I think I got my best shot at Big Bend National Park. The sunset was spectacular.

The temperature was extremely high above 100 F most of the time during this trip, so we decided to spend the last 2 days in Durango, Colorado in order to cool off a bit.

Here are some pictures from our last trip to Kauai, Hawaii. We traveled beginning of January when the island was still quite empty.

Kauai is one of the most beautiful places I have traveled to so far and it is indeed like being in paradise. For a seascape photographer this is a dream destination. The island has lots of beautiful beaches to offer, covered with black lava rocks and the waves are spectacular and at times also intimidating as they get incredibly high.

In January we decided to take part in an early quarantine program that required us to quarantine for 3 days at The Cliffs Resort on Kauai Island in Hawaii. We were released afterwards with a negative test and were able to explore the island while it was still quite empty...

Fall Photography in West Virginia

Babcock State Park in West Virginia is known for its beautiful fall colors and the Glade Creek Grist Mill is one of the most photographed locations in the park. Fall In The Adirondacks

Happy New Year to everybody!
I had just received my new Canon Eos R5 camera and we took a short weekend trip to the Adirondacks. Connery Pond was the perfect location to try it out. We had been to Connery Pond in the summer, but I was unlucky with heavy fog blocking the view on Whiteface Mountain and the lake last time. For more information click on link.

Acadia National Park, Maine
