Corporate video does not have to be dry. Behind every business, there is a compelling human story. Your audience connects with your message only when you find that story and structure it correctly.

I recently edited hours of raw footage into a tight, three minute promotional video for Wild Planet Foods. At North Quabbin Productions, I move away from traditional corporate pacing. I use a specific five step editing structure to build commercial videos that retain viewers.

• Capture immediate attention within the first three seconds.
• Establish context by showing your history and environment.
• Introduce the core industry conflict to build investment.
• Pivot at the midpoint to introduce your brand as the solution.
• Deliver a payoff that shows the long term impact of your work.

This structure transforms standard corporate interviews into a memorable narrative that drives engagement.

If your business needs a professional video that retains viewers and communicates your values, North Quabbin Productions can help. I handle corporate branding, promotional content, and documentary film edits.

The human attention span is selective. Taking hours of raw footage and condensing it into a three minute story tests your editing skills. For this project with Wild Planet Foods, I changed the corporate pacing to build a narrative structured for digital viewers.

I applied five specific steps to structure this video.
• The Hook. Disrupt the passive scrolling pattern in the first three seconds.
• The Context. Establish the stakes by introducing Bill Carvalho, his family history, and the Northern California coast.
• The Tension. Introduce the conflict by showing the damage of non selective fishing.
• The Pivot. Show the exact moment the story shifts to the solution, which is the partnership with Whole Foods.
• The Payoff. Fulfill the promise of the hook by showing the positive impact on future generations.
This structure transforms raw interviews into a tight sequence that honors a legacy of sustainable fishing.

Creating an edit with tight pacing requires high quality raw material. I used EditStock to obtain the raw project files and footage for this post. They provide broadcast quality footage to practice narrative cutting skills.

Review your current timeline layout. Identify where your viewers drop off. Apply these five steps to increase your retention rate.
