Settlers Trading Post is a modern version of an old west trading post that once was a stopping place for Indians, Settlers, and Pioneers back in the 1800's. Today it serves as a stopping place for locals and travelers from all over the world. Pretty cool experience coming across this and staying the night and talking to the locals. As we a tornado just went through town about 5 miles from us it had destroyed an entire town population there was around 250 but everyone survived unfortunately a lot of their homes did not. As we seen pictures it was a tragic to see as they told us they only had a five minute warning to evacuate . That wasn't enough time so old man told me he grab a beer and his wife and took cover to hide from the tornado as there was nothing else he could do and hoped for the best. It said it was probably the scariest thing of his life knowing If he was going to make it or not but sure enough he did. Here in Nebraska small towns they drive to other towns for fun to see where people are from and some spark convo as I did. My license plate stuck out to the locals because everyone around the campsite had Nebraska plates and ours was New York. That was their story and I exchanged mine as we were just New Yorkers traveling the country and what has happened along the way. The old fella told me "sometimes you find your self in the middle of nowhere and sometimes in the middle of nowhere you find your self".
